Exceeding the City
3월 14일 컬럼비아 GSAPP World Actioning Summit이 ‘Exceeding the City’를 주제로 개최됐다. 건축, 정책, 전시 등 다양한 분야의 전문가들이 참여해 도시의 물리적 경계를 넘어 확장되는 생태적 관계 속에서 건축의 역할을 논의했다.
Shirley Surya(M+)와 Mark Wasiuta(GSAPP)는 전시와 교육을 통해 건축과 생태를 새롭게 읽는 관점을 제시했다. 이어 Wang Shu는 영상 대담에서 기술 중심 시대 속에서도 건축이 인간의 삶과 감각, 전통적 경험을 지켜야 한다고 강조했다.
이어진 패널에서는 도시 정책, 생태적 설계, 건축의 생태적 전환 등 다양한 관점에서 도시를 넘어 확장되는 생태적 건축의 가능성이 논의됐다.

On March 14, Columbia GSAPP hosted the World Actioning Summit under the theme “Exceeding the City.” The symposium brought together voices from architecture, policy, and curatorial practice to explore expanded ecological relationships beyond the city.
Shirley Surya and Mark Wasiuta discussed new ways of reading architecture through exhibitions and education, while Wang Shu reflected on the importance of protecting human experience and traditional knowledge in an age dominated by technology.
The panels further addressed urban policy, ecological design, and architectural transitions toward ecological systems.
