Hello folks! If you want to build a school dormitory let me give you some tips. * Doorways should be at least 5 feet (about 1.5 metres) wide.
* Doors should open outwards toward the escape route.
* Doors must never be locked from the outside when students are inside.
* A dormitory should have:
* A door at each end of the building.
* An additional Emergency Exit in the middle, clearly marked.
* Exit routes should remain free of beds, boxes, and other obstructions.
Windows
* Windows should be large enough for emergency escape and ventilation.
* Windows should be easy to open outward.
* Dormitory windows should not have fixed metal grills that can trap students during a fire.
Internal Layout
* Space between beds: at least 1.2 metres.
* Main corridors/pathways: at least 2 metres wide.
* Avoid overcrowding; student numbers should match the dormitory’s designed capacity.
