The Super Napier has the following key qualities
☆ Super Napier Pakchong 1 is the only variety in Kenya giving highest crude protein 16 - 18% cp.
☆ Super Napier Pakchong 1 production is approximately 180 - 200 Tons per acre per year.
(ordinary Napier produce approximately 50 -60 tons per acre in a year) this means a dairy farmer can easily rear 10-15 cows in one acre of land...
☆ Highly suitable for silage making.
☆ Pakchong 1 Super Napier is propagated via cuttings and root splits
☆ The first harvest is done from 75 to 90 days after planting and subsequent cuts are done after intervals of 45 to 60 days.
☆ Super Napier Pakchong 1 produces 6 to 8 cuttings per year and 180 to 200 tons per year depending on soil conditions.
