WHY PITCHED ROOF?
Better rainwater drainage – The slope allows rainwater to drain quickly, reducing water ponding and leakage risks.

Aesthetic appeal – Gives a house a more traditional, residential character and can enhance the overall appearance.

Improved ventilation – The roof space can allow for ventilation and help reduce heat buildup.

Attic/usable roof space – The roof void can potentially be used for storage or converted into additional space, subject to design.

Longer roof life – Good drainage and appropriate detailing can reduce prolonged exposure of roofing materials to standing water.

Solar potential – The roof pitch and orientation can be designed to accommodate solar panels effectively.

Did you know? 👀 Some project overruns can significantly increase your cost as a client.

There are 5 common types of project overruns:

💰 Cost Overrun – spending more than the approved budget
⏱️ Time Overrun – taking longer than the planned completion period
📐 Scope Overrun – adding works beyond the original agreed scope
🧱 Material Overrun – increased quantities, wastage or material changes
👷 Labour Overrun – additional labour costs due to extended works or changes

Some of these overruns can result in unexpected expenses, which may ultimately lead to a variation being presented to the client.

💡Our advice to clients: Collaborate closely with your architect, consultants and contractor during the design stage. Take time to refine your design, and scope before ex*****on begins on site.

Because changes made late in the project can cost you more.
