Earlier last month, the CEO had the privilege of attending the launch of Habitat for Humanity Kenya's campaign, an initiative that reinforces the importance of housing as a driver of health, dignity, resilience and economic opportunity.
The campaign unveiled two impactful programmes: Women Building Resilient Manyattas, which supports climate-resilient improvements to traditional Maasai homes while preserving cultural heritage and Jigger-Free Homes, a five-year initiative aimed at improving 10,000 household floors across Kenya's jigger-endemic communities.
The discussions closely align with our work in earth-based construction technologies, particularly rammed earth, where we continue to explore practical, affordable and sustainable shelter for marginalized communities.
Achieving decent housing for all will require collaboration, innovation and the adoption of appropriate building technologies that are locally available, environmentally responsible and economically viable.
