A home shaped by its landscape, its materials and the story of the person who would call it home.

Wood, leather, brass and stone come together to create interiors that feel warm, timeless and personal.

A look inside the Laikipia Residence. 🏡

Studio Sessions...

A little look into the everyday rhythm of running a studio — ideas being discussed, decisions being made and a team figuring things out together.

Because behind every project is a whole lot of conversations, collaboration, problem-solving.

Every day in the studio looks a little different and honestly, that’s what makes it exciting.

What happens when a home is designed around how you want to live, not just where you want to live?

For this Laikipia residence, the design was shaped by a desire for comfort, privacy, nature and a slower pace of life.

From the sensory experience of water and greenery to the material palette, views and movement through the home, every decision was made to connect the architecture to its surroundings.

A retirement home, but more importantly, a place to enjoy the life that comes with it.

Here’s a look at the thinking behind the design. 🌿

The exteriors set the tone, but there’s so much more to the Laikipia Home experience.

Here’s a glimpse into the interiors we had in mind — warm, considered and designed to carry the same connection to the landscape indoors.

More about the design to come.

More than a home, this Laikipia residence was designed as a place to experience a slower, more intentional way of living.

Designed for a retired pilot, the home sits within a working farm, creating an opportunity to make nature, landscape and everyday life part of the architectural experience.

The design focuses on creating a sensory connection to the site — from the changing light and surrounding views to the textures, sounds and movement within.

Rather than simply placing a house on the land, the intention was to create a home that feels deeply connected to its setting, with spaces that encourage both quiet moments and meaningful gathering.

A retirement home, but also a new chapter; designed around comfort, connection and the freedom to truly experience the landscape.

This scandinavian-inspired residential home is envisioned as a contemporary countryside retreat inspired by Scandinavian architecture and the natural beauty of the Mount Kenya region. More about it is coming soon!

Construction can feel complicated when no one takes the time to explain what is actually happening.

From materials and methods to site processes, costs, timelines and the decisions that shape a project, there is a lot that clients are expected to understand when building a home or any other space.

And sometimes, the information simply isn't readily available.

That is why sharing knowledge matters.

As architects, part of our responsibility is not only to design and oversee a project, but also to help our clients understand the process they are investing in. The more you understand what is happening on your project, the more confidently you can make decisions, ask the right questions and know where your expenses are going.

These moments are a small glimpse into that process—breaking down construction in Kenya, explaining what happens on site and making architectural and construction knowledge a little more accessible.

Because a client shouldn't have to feel lost throughout the building process.

Good communication creates clarity.
Clarity creates trust.
And trust makes for a much better building experience.

Architecture isn't just about what we create at the end. It's also about making sure the people we're creating it for understand the journey along the way. That is what our Lead Architect at Reach Studios is dedicated to doing!

A home isn’t only about how it looks from the outside. It’s also about how it feels to live in it.

Just as you want to visualise the exterior form, you should also be able to see how your interiors will come together before construction is complete. From the layout and finishes to the furniture, lighting, colours and overall atmosphere, interior visualisations give you a chance to understand the space you’ll eventually call home.

Because you’ll spend most of your time inside the house, those spaces deserve just as much thought and attention.

Good design means being able to see the whole picture, inside and out, before it becomes reality.

There’s something about seeing a project from above that changes the way you understand it.

Drone footage gives us a wider perspective — helping us read the site, understand its surroundings, capture progress and see the bigger picture beyond what we experience at ground level.

Sometimes, you just need to step back (or fly up) to see things clearly.

Different projects. Different visions. One love for good design.

A few of our favourite visuals, all in one place.
