10 ways to stand out in a hiring process (that don’t involve your resume):
1. Do Your Research
Before an interview, spend a few hours researching the company and role.
At a minimum, you should cover:
• Company mission
• Recent company news
• Recent market news
• Backgrounds of leaders
• Backgrounds of interviewers
Google is a powerful asset—use it.
2. Embrace “I Don’t Know”
You can’t know the answer to every question. And you know what? That’s ok.
Don’t be afraid to say “I don’t know”—but follow it with a plan to acquire that information.
3.Leverage Warm Intros
Warm intros are the holy grail of a competitive hiring process.
Scan your networks for any connections to a company—yes, LinkedIn is actually useful for something!
If you find any that are close enough, use them.
A few other ideas in my thread below:
Ex: “I don’t know, but I’ll dig in and follow up via email.”
Then actually follow up!
4. Prepare for “Why Us?”
Interviewers inevitably ask, “Why us?”—make sure you're prepared for it.
Leverage your research. Write down 2-3 unique points about the company that appeal to you.
The more specific, the better.
Generic answers get minus points. Specific answers win.
5. Pass the Plane Test
There’s a common—and dated!—test in the hiring process:
“Would I want to sit next to this person on a plane for 6 hours?”
This was about being “normal”—but normalcy is overrated.
Be yourself, but be sure to get across that you're kind and genuine.
6. Cite Real Weaknesses
Getting asked about your weaknesses feels like a trap, so we tend to cite weaknesses that could be viewed as strengths.
“I’m TOO detail oriented."
I once told a finance interviewer I didn’t know accounting—but that I would learn it. That’s a real weakness!
7.Highlight Learning as a Goal
When asked about your goals, always highlight learning.
Lifelong learners tend to be great employees—they're interested, intellectually curious, and driven to do more than what is asked of them.

HOW TO WIN A LADIES HEART

1. CULTIVATE FRIENDSHIP
Most guys make the mistake of going straight to a lady and telling her they like her and want relationship, which eventually leads to the ladies turning them down. You must understand that the majority of ladies would prefer to go into a relationship with a friend than an acquaintance.

Take time to build real and genuine friendship, and then you won't need to preach a sermon to her😅 before she says I DO

2. BE WARM TO HER
Ladies generally gravitates towards guys that are nice and warm, without even knowing it. You can't be rude to females around you and want them to have something serious with you. Guys you must understand that ladies discuss among themselves when they're together, so if you've been rude to one the others will definitely get to know especially if you're trying to woo their friend 😀

Assist them whenever the occasion arises even if you're not dating them, it creates a perception that you're a nice guy. Also if you have female siblings you can start by treating them nicely as this would help you to be nice to other ladies.

3. LOOK GOOD
Looking bad is a turn off for most ladies in this gen z generation, as this seems to send a negative signal to them about you. Dressing nice can give you a greater chance when it comes to getting a ladies attention. Most guys don't seem to understand why the ladies around them don't seem to give them a chance when it comes to dating and yet they're friends.

Guys it must interest you to know that ladies likes to show off their man, especially if he's handsome. So don't go about dressing like a masquerade thinking it doesn't matter, try to look good in the little way you can.

4. GIVER HER A SENSE OF DIRECTION
Every lady wants a man that can lead not matter their level of achievement. Contributing to a ladies life and progress is a sure way to win a ladies heart.

I walked into a hotel and after going through the menu, I ordered some food. After about 20 mins a group of guys and ladies walked in & ordered theirs. To my dismay, these folks got served first. I watched as they began to eat& laugh heartily. I even overheard one of them bragging about how connected he is to everyone in the hotel and I felt mocked . I decided to leave. Unable to take it anymore , I called the waiter. He calmly told me: "yours is a special order, being prepared by the chief chef himself. Their orders were prepared hurriedly by students on attachment because the top chefs are busy with yours Sir. That's why they were served first. Please have some juice as you wait". I calmed down & waited patiently.
Shortly after, my meal was served by 6 waiters. Unknown to me, the owner of the hotel (who happened to be an old long lost friend of mine) saw me when I entered and decided to surprise me. She changed my simple meal to a five-star meal. The party at the other table were shocked. They couldn't stop staring. Suddenly they were the ones murmuring, asking why they didn't get that kind of service and meal.
Such is life! Some people are ahead of you and are eating now, laughing at you and talking about how they are smarter, wiser and better than you, how they are well connected, blessed, have money and are enjoying life . You are waiting tirelessly wondering why it's taking so long to breakthrough, You endure mockery and humiliation. Maybe you have contemplated su***de, gone throughout depression or suffered severe mental anxiety. Do not worry! The owner of the world has seen u & doesn't want u to be served a simple meal like those making a mockery of you. You're waiting long because yours is a special meal. It takes time to prepare. And only chief chefs prepare them.
Wait for your meal and relax . When it comes that laughing party will be silenced for good.

"According to Psychologists, there are four types of Intelligence:

1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
2) Emotional Quotient (EQ)
3) Social Quotient (SQ)
4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)

1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ): this is the measure of your level of comprehension. You need IQ to solve maths, memorize things, and recall lessons.

2. Emotional Quotient (EQ): this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others, keep to time, be responsible, be honest, respect boundaries, be humble, genuine and considerate.

3. Social Quotient (SQ): this is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go further in life than those with a high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize on improving IQ levels while EQ and SQ are played down.

A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your Character, while your SQ represents your Charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs, especially your EQ and SQ.

Now there is a 4th one, a new paradigm:

4. The Adversity Quotient (AQ): The measure of your ability to go through a rough patch in life, and come out of it without losing your mind.

When faced with troubles, AQ determines who will give up, who will abandon their family, and who will consider su***de.

Parents please expose your children to other areas of life than just Academics. They should adore manual labour (never use work as a form of punishment), Sports and Arts.

Develop their IQ, as well as their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of their parents.

Finally, do not prepare the road for your children. Prepare your children for the road."

FIVE (5) WAYS MEN CAN ESCAPE POVERTY.

1. Get the right woman - Forget the slay queens and women with looks but zero brains. Get a woman who will not only support your vision but will also push you to achieve more. A woman who will inspire you to work hard and not a woman who just makes you hard. He who finds a real woman finds a good thing and obtains favour and power to create wealth.

2. Stop Taking Cheap Drinks - I have no problem with having drinks during social interaction and networking. However, when you drink cheap drinks or drink in cheap places, you hang out with cheap people who have cheap ideas and a cheap future. Big business opportunities are found in places where the drinks are expensive. In fact, in places where they sell cheap drinks, the only people you will find there are people who will be asking you for money. They even clap when you come knowing 'big buyer' has come.

3. Stop being Lazy - "Man ooh Man, why art thou Lazy?" You are too lazy for your own good. You sleep the whole day and blame the government for your poverty. "A Little Sleep, a Little Slumber, poverty shall overtake you like a political cadre in overalls". A lot of men are just lazy when it comes to making money. They have enough energy to give a woman five or***ms, but have no energy to start one organization, that's why it is so easy for men to manufacture children than it is to make even pegs for putting children's clothes on the line..

4. Know Productive Things - If you keep too much junk in your head, you get a junk life. I know a lot of men who are so sharp when you are talking about girls, about soccer and about street politics, Who is Rich who is not,Who has a good house but you can't bring a topic about investment, innovation and business, they start looking at their phone, yawning or saying bye.. Useless things, videos and memes go viral fast than constructive things.. A man must know how to do at least one productive thing (have one skill) even without having gone to college.

5. Get Connected to 'Big' Men Who are better than you - A lot of men are failing because they are not mentored. They don't have anyone to whom they can sit down and listen, with obedience. In the old days, old men would sit young men down and show them how to hunt and kill animals... and no man was considered a man enough until he has personally killed an animal... now these men of nowadays are not mentored and can't even kill a bird.
