Our group has successfully ventured into agriculture, and following a productive training session yesterday, we now have experts skilled in propagating seedlings. The training covered several key topics, including:

1. Preparing planting media
2. Loading the media into propagation trays
3. Placing seeds individually into trays with 150 holes
4. Covering the seeds in trays
5. Properly watering the trays
6. Arranging trays in the germination unit
7. Covering trays in the germination unit

Additionally, the importance of each step was thoroughly discussed. The media used for propagation included vermiculite and peatmoss, and the following products were planted:

1. Pretoria F1 cabbage
2. Maxibell Hoho (bell pepper)
3. Long purple eggplant
4. Black beauty eggplant
5. 1000-headed kale
6. Collards (Southern Georgia)
7. Ashley F1 cucumber
8. Countaloupe hales (Galia melon)
9. Curly kale (sukuma matumbo)
10. Waltham Butternut squash

With this successful training, we are now well-equipped to propagate a variety of seedlings.

The program "Governance Voices Advocating and Documenting Change in Western Region," hosted by, Siasa Place has brought together community-based organizations (CBOs) from counties such as Homabay, Kericho, Kakamega, Busia, Siaya, and Nyamira.
Through this program, local CBOs will be trained on how to effectively document governance challenges, advocacy efforts, and the impact of community interventions. It also fosters a better understanding of the process of advocacy documentation, which can amplify community voices, attract attention to specific issues, and shape policies in the region.
As Tilil Environmental Group we are glad to be part of this program

We held a meeting to celebrate the ongoing partnership between Tilil and Siasa Place, with the goal of reviewing the activities carried out over the past few months. In attendance were representatives from both Tilil and Siasa Place. The session provided an opportunity to reflect on successes, identify areas for improvement, and discuss the future direction of the collaboration.

Tilil and Siasa Place met to discuss a collaborative partnership aimed at enhancing youth engagement in civic and governance initiatives. The discussion covered mutual goals, focusing on joint projects like digital campaigns, civic education workshops, and advocacy efforts. Both organizations agreed on shared resources, with Tilil bringing technical expertise and Siasa Place contributing its community networks. They outlined roles and responsibilities, set a preliminary timeline, and identified key performance indicators to measure impact. Clear communication channels were established, and next steps were assigned, paving the way for a structured partnership to empower and mobilize youth in civic participation.

Environmental Matters advocacy within Majengo site and services ,Kericho Municipality courtesy of Tilil Environmental Group in conjunction with Siasa Place Program. We held a successful Baraza whereby a myriad of challenges were identified including, a broken sewer line disposing raw sewer to the river where the community source their water for domestic purposes, poor garbage collection services and lack of public participation in matters to do with development programmes which we shall do a follow-up with the respective duty bearers as a way forward
