Shades of Green is no longer accepting clients. The designer has retired but will still be posting!

Prior to retirement, I specialised in rural gardens, using planting to create form and flow in over 200 Scottish gardens. Whether high and cold, windy, coastal or wet, I probably helped to create a garden in similar unpromising situations. This page is now devoted to sharing the joy of my own garden, along with gardening tips and hints.

Memories of my gardening mum: Paeonia Barbara with herbaceous Geranium, of which she was an avid collector. Many of those plants can be found throughout my garden now ❤️
