Located in Vienne, France, Center Parcs Le Bois aux Daims is a year-round water park enclosed beneath an ETFE membrane roof. Completed in 2016, the facility provides an all-weather environment for visitors to enjoy throughout the year.

【About the Structure】
The roof features 6,285 m² of three-layer ETFE cushions. These multi-layer ETFE cushions admit natural daylight while allowing a controlled amount of ultraviolet light to pass through. Their lightweight construction also enables highly flexible freeform roof geometry.

We introduce the Glendale Shopping Centre Market Canopy in Glendale, New South Wales, Australia. Combining two conical peaks with a barrel vault spanning the full length, this 4,300㎡ PVC membrane structure serves as covered parking for 160 vehicles on weekdays and transforms into a farmers' market venue on weekends. The project received an award at the 2023 STA Australian Textile Fabrication Industry Awards.

Located in a highland resort area in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, this membrane dome was completed in 1995 based on a design by Machizukuri Planning Institute Co., Ltd. The facility provides an all-weather environment where visitors can enjoy a variety of sports year-round.

A dome-shaped membrane roof encloses the interior, admitting abundant natural daylight while sheltering users from the elements. The lightweight membrane structure creates a distinctive architectural form that blends harmoniously with the surrounding highland landscape.

This shade canopy is installed at the municipal Southside Memorial Pool in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. Developed as a swimming facility capable of hosting national-level competitions, its distinctive roof serves as a landmark for the pool while protecting swimmers and spectators from the sun.

【About the structure of this building】
The large-span roof covering the entire Olympic-sized swimming pool utilizes PVC membrane material. One side of the membrane panels is supported by catenary cables spaced approximately 1.2 meters apart, realizing a structure that seamlessly covers a large space while maintaining the open feel of an outdoor facility.

オーストラリア・クイーンズランド州ロックハンプトンに位置する、市営の「サウスサイド・メモリアル・プール」に設置されたシェードキャノピーです。全国レベルの競技会を開催できる水泳施設として整備され、プールのランドマークとなる特徴的な屋根が、日差しから遊泳者や観客を保護します。

【構造について】
オリンピックサイズの競泳プール全体を覆う大スパンの屋根に、PVC膜材を採用しています。膜パネルの片側は約1.2m間隔で配置されたカテナリーケーブルによって支えられ、屋外施設としての開放感を保ちながら、大きな空間をシームレスに覆う構造を実現しています。

【About this building】
This event space canopy is installed at "Benibana no Sato Okegawa," the first roadside station in Okegawa City, Saitama Prefecture. It features a lightweight and open membrane roof designed with the motif of a safflower (benibana), the city's symbol. At night, the membrane roof is illuminated in orange to beautifully recreate the image of a safflower.

【About the structure of this building】
The structure utilizes a membrane material treated with a titanium dioxide photocatalyst. This provides high stain resistance by decomposing organic dirt and washing it away with rainwater, maintaining its white appearance over the long term. The thin and lightweight membrane also offers excellent earthquake resistance, realizing a roof that recreates the three-dimensional shape of the safflower.

【建物について】
埼玉県桶川市に位置する、桶川市初の道の駅「べに花の郷おけがわ」に設置されたイベントスペースの上屋です。桶川市のシンボルであるべに花の形状をモチーフとした、軽量で開放感のある膜屋根が特徴です。夜間では照明により膜屋根をオレンジ色に照らし「べに花」が演出されています。

【構造について】
表面処理に酸化チタン光触媒を施した膜材を採用しています。有機物による汚れを分解し雨水で洗い流すことで、白い外観が長期にわたり保たれる高い防汚性を備えています。薄く軽量な膜材は耐震性にも優れ、べに花の立体感のある形状を再現する屋根を実現しています。
