Works by Ben Ryuki Miyagi are exhibited at Osaka Municipal Yodogawa Library, in Osaka Japan.

It shows recent works in Yodogawa ward, such as designs for Cafe Yutte, Crepe Rose, and Haguruma. It also exhibits activities at Kids Craft, and Nanagei Gallery.

One glass case located in front of library’s entrance. The other glass case is inside of this library in a corridor.

This library is conveniently located near Hankyu Juso train station, on the 2nd floor of recently completed high rise residential tower, the tallest building in this neighbor. Please visit. Until October 14, 2026.

建築家宮城竜紀が想像する淀川区　展

大阪市立淀川図書館で2026年8月21日から10月14日まで、宮城竜紀による近年の淀川区での作品や活動を紹介した展示が開催中です。

図書館入口前のガラスケースと、図書館内通路にあるガラスケースの2か所で展示されてます。キッズクラフトの学生作品の写真は図書館内のガラスケースでご覧なれます。

カフェ　ユッテ、クレープローゼ、はぐるま、キッズクラフト、ナナゲイギャラリーでの近年の様々なデザイン案、アート作品、アート教室での活動などがご覧なれます。

大阪市立淀川図書館は阪急十三駅の近くで、最近完成した高層複合マンション “ジオタワー大阪十三” の2階にあります。是非お越し下さい。

KIDS CRAFT EXHIBITION JUSO, OSAKA, JAPAN

Ben Ryuki Miyagi taught children how to design Okashina-ie (Quirky house, Fantastic, Gingerbread-like house). Works by students were included in a recent exhibition that celebrates 30th year of Kids Craft as a private art school.

キッズクラフト展　

の活動30周年を記念して、キッズクラフト展が開催されました。この展示ではお菓子な家　も展示されました。

2026年の4月と5月に宮城竜紀が特別にゲスト講師として招待され、お菓子な家というテーマで子供たちが作品を作りました。

1回90分のクラスを各生徒が合計3回かけて作りました。　各クラスの始まる前に、このクラスのために宮城竜紀自身が作った立体作品例や、宮城竜紀が毎日描くアイデアスケッチブックからのイメージなどを子供たちに紹介しました。

建築的な創作のプロセスを体験するため、一回目のクラスでは模型を作る前にまず想像している家の設計図を上や横や斜めなど様々な角度から描くという課題となりました。

予想通り、子供には大人には出来ないイマジネーションがあり、各クラスの後、子供たちから影響を受けて宮城竜紀自身も帰宅後スケッチブックに様々なアイデアを描くという日々となりました。

宮城竜紀は、これらのアイデアが将来、自身による幼稚園や小学校、子供美術館などの設計に役立てばいいと願っています。

Based on 5 sculptural examples made by Ben Ryuki Miyagi himself in clay and painted with acrylics, children made their own house, using clay. Each student spent a total of 3 classes, of each class of 90 minutes.

In order to experience “architectural” process of design, students were encouraged to draw their imaginary house from multiple angles such as roof plan, elevations, bird’s eye views, before making sculpture of the house.

Inspired by these student’s imagination, after each class, Ben Ryuki Miyagi himself went home and spent a lot of time sketching new ideas in his daily sketch exercise notebook.

Ben Ryuki Miyagi hopes that someday these ideas will help his design of buildings such as a kindergarten and a children’s museum.

Architect Ben Ryuki Miyagi will teach how to design a gingerbread-like architecture to children in April 2026, in Osaka Japan

お菓子な家　　

大阪十三、キッズクラフト様　でのクラス　
宮城竜紀が特別招待されます。

キッズクラフト の赤座様と宮城竜紀が最近会話し、そこから宮城竜紀が特別ゲスト講師として”お菓子な家”　というテーマで数日キッズクラフトの生徒に教えるという案が自然に発生しました。

2026年の4月と5月に1回90分のクラスを合計3回か4回かけて、子供それぞれが独自に想像する”お菓子な家”の設計図（外観の完成イメージ）を紙に描き、それからそれの立体を粘土で作り、それに装飾、着色して仕上げるというプロジェクトを想定しています。クラス時間帯の見学は保護者の方々のみです。

For over a decade, architect Ben Ryuki Miyagi has been exploring his own unique aesthetic style, incorporating playful use of color and geometry. Works by architect Ben Ryuki Miyagi are heavily influenced by the imaginations of children. It is the ultimate creative ambition of Ben Ryuki Miyagi, to design and build architecture as if imagined by a child.
