The columns weren’t going anywhere. So we asked what they could earn instead of just holding up the ceiling.
At Olivestone, two structural columns became circular oak shelving layered rings of jars, oils, and preserves, right where guests order. It’s not decoration. It’s the same instinct behind the open bakery concept: nothing here is hidden. The bread proofing, the pastry work, the pantry all visible, because that’s what “freshly handmade every day” actually means when you build it into the architecture instead of just writing it on the wall.
Structure doesn’t have to disappear to feel refined. Sometimes it just needs a better job to do.
