Ᾱrḍ is a creative architecture & design studio, based in Amman, Jordan, Founded and Directed by Architect Dina Al Ahmad in 2012. Our practice seeks to generate meaningful, coherent and living landscapes through tailored, sensitive designs that are rooted in thei
r social and environmental fabric. Our work includes architecture, interior, landscape and furniture design. Our team is a combination of Designers, architects, civil engineers and contractors. This combination allowed for a different approach that is more flexible, more daring and experimental, as projects were designed architecturally and structurally, implemented and supervised on site -all by the same team. I believe our work process introduces a more coherent materialization of projects that would hopefully show and stand out in the Ammani landscape. Apartment buildings, in particular, form a great part of the Ammani urban fabric; yet they are often a dull repetition of badly designed prototypes. Introducing well-designed apartment buildings would, hopefully, gradually improve the image and quality of this major component of our urban scene.
