Matthews & Clarke Ltd MATTHEWS AND CLARKE was established in the early 1970s as a distributor of metal roofing produced in New Zealand. It is available in a wide range of colours.

It is located in the central part of the island. The company is a registered limited liability company banking with Scotiabank Jamaica. Nearly forty years later, we have become a well known name associated with both residential and commercial roofing in Jamaica. We currently manufacture metal tiles, CURATILE, the metal tile more popularly known as SUPERTILE. We also supply and install, CURABOND, along with other metal and asphalt roofing. Our CURATILE was born out of the need for a more weather resistant tile. This tile has that weather strip that reduces water pe*******on at the joints and allows for advanced installation technology. This front lip allows the tile to be nailed at the strongest point. This tile can be installed over most existing materials including wood shake and asphalt shingles. This tile will give you that tile look with the lightweight and durable advantage of Alu-Steel. Our CURABOND is comparable with other stone coated metal tiles. This tile is fire resistant and is able to withstand wind speeds of up to 120 mph. It uses highly reflective granite stone chips which reduce heat gain by as much as 45%. This lightweight, easy to install roof tile comes in a wide range of natural hues that complement your dream home. We have on call competent installers who have had years of experience in roofing. These installers, who have been trained by the company, are available for installation at any location.

Matthews & Clarke Limited is deeply honoured to receive this Certificate of Appreciation from JAIFA, recognizing our support and contribution toward assistance provided to JAIFA members affected by Hurricane Melissa.

For us, this recognition represents something much bigger than an award. It represents people helping people, businesses standing with communities, and Jamaicans coming together when it matters most.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, so many families and communities faced the difficult task of rebuilding. We were grateful for the opportunity to play our part and to support efforts aimed at helping Jamaicans recover and move forward.

HURRICANE GILBERT: 38 YEARS LATER, ARE WE STILL LISTENING? 🇯🇲🌪️

On September 12, 1988, Hurricane Gilbert crossed Jamaica, leaving behind devastation that changed how a generation of Jamaicans thought about hurricanes, homes, roofs and preparedness.

But Gilbert left us something else:
lessons.

On this day, we remember Hurricane Ivan — and the lessons it left behind. 🇯🇲

When Hurricane Ivan impacted Jamaica in September 2004, it reinforced something Matthews & Clarke had seen firsthand: Jamaican homes needed roofing designed with our weather, our conditions and our people in mind.

So we took action and the SUPERTILE was born— Matthews & Clarke’s own metal roofing tile, made in Jamaica for the Jamaican weather.🇯🇲

5 Things to Check Before a Hurricane:

🔩 Screws & Fasteners — Are any loose, missing, rusted or backing out?

🏠 Metal Sheets — Look for sheets that are loose, lifted, damaged or no longer sitting securely.

💨 Ridge Caps, Edges & Flashing — Make sure these critical areas are properly secured and sealed.

💧 Leaks & Weak Seals — Check for water stains, gaps and signs of leakage around vents, pipes and other roof pe*******ons.
