Set on the site of a former campground with a unique and privileged location on the shores of Lago Maggiore, Lago Maggiore Bay was conceived as a contemporary hospitality project immersed in nature.

MARGstudio designed the pool area, the convivial spaces, the restaurant and the rooms, developing the functional layout of the waterfront cabins and the study of the private pier.

Natural materials, water, light and landscape define the identity of the project, creating an atmosphere that combines simplicity, elegance and a deep connection with the surrounding environment.

CASA DANDA was designed more than ten years ago, yet it still reflects a contemporary way of living.

Because when design is truly well conceived, it does not follow temporary trends — it endures through time.

Essential lines, balanced proportions, authentic materials and a fluid spatial layout define a project language that seeks lasting relationships between light, matter and function, rather than short-lived aesthetic effects.

A 1960s apartment transformed through a radical gesture of subtraction and continuity, where a dark central volume organizes the space without interrupting its openness and flow.

Looking back at CASA DANDA today, we still believe that true contemporaneity means creating spaces able to outlive trends and remain meaningful over time.

In the heart of Bergamo Alta, within the ancient fabric of Via Solata, the ELAV space was born from a primordial gesture: returning to the origin.

A project that still feels remarkably contemporary today thanks to its radical essentiality and its direct relationship between matter, gesture and ritual.

Earth, water, mist, hops.

The intervention takes place inside one of the historic taverns of Bergamo Alta, reinterpreting its convivial spirit through a silent and tactile architecture, capable of engaging with the memory of the place without nostalgia.

At the center of the space stands the long raw-earth beer counter: a monolithic and ancestral element crossing the interior like a line carved by water through the ground. Completing it, a custom-designed tap simulates water falling from above, transforming the act of pouring beer into an almost ritual experience.

In the background, an immersive backdrop evokes the mist of the Bergamo countryside, from which water symbolically emerges — the primary ingredient and soul of ELAV beer — together with hops cultivated in the Bergamo area, fundamental elements of the brewery’s identity.

A project developed together with our friend and colleague Francesca Perani of , with whom the design dialogue became an ongoing exploration of materiality, atmosphere and storytelling.
A collaboration built on shared sensibilities and complementary visions, capable of shaping a space that is both essential and deeply evocative.

A project about territory, ritual and authenticity.
About what remains when everything returns to its essence.

TYPE — Milano, Isola

A small urban refuge where space tells identity.
TYPE plays on meanings: “tipe” as people, encounters, stories — but also “type” as sign, character, a starting point.

Warm wood, raw metal, and a constellation of suspended lights define an intimate atmosphere, balancing precision and spontaneity.

The project works through layers, transforming a compact interior into a recognizable identity.
Hexagonal patterns, graphic signs, and materials build a language that feels both contemporary and familiar.

Located in the vibrant Isola district, right in front of the Blue Note, TYPE is designed as a place to pause — between a coffee, a conversation… and a very good drink.

A space that shifts, without ever truly changing.

The Food & Beverage area at Hotel Boston in Stresa is conceived as a multifunctional environment, designed to accommodate large flows in short timeframes, supporting the rhythm of the hotel throughout the day.

A deliberately neutral setting, defined by clear geometries and balanced materials, yet strongly characterized by rhythm, light, and depth.

From breakfast to dinner, the atmosphere evolves naturally.
Light becomes warmer, contrasts emerge, and the perception turns more intimate.

The identity remains.
Quiet, coherent, continuous.

Because elegance is never a gesture, but a condition that endures through time and use.

A 16th-century space brought back to life.

We removed, uncovered, listened.
Beneath layers of time, the original walls, vaults, and fragments of old flooring re-emerged.
Not perfect. Real.

There is no staging here.
There is research. Months of research.

Every object has been selected, found, reclaimed.
Nothing is fake, nothing is made to look old—everything carries its own story.

The wood is marked, the metal is worn, the surfaces are irregular.
And that is exactly where the beauty lies: not in correcting, not in polishing, but in preserving imperfection.

Plants soften the space, making it feel intimate.
Warm light brings everything together.
Somewhere between romantic and industrial—without forcing either.

It’s a fragile yet honest balance,
where every detail is the result of time, not construction.

A world of imperfection creating its own kind of perfection.

ILDE — Bottega e Cucina, Lodi

A place rooted in memory, reimagined as a contemporary experience.

ILDE evolves from a historic family osteria into a neighborhood bottega and convivial dining space, where retail and kitchen coexist seamlessly. The architectural concept reflects this dual identity: deep green tones define a strong, recognizable atmosphere, while iron and wood create a light, open framework that connects spaces, people, and gestures.

At its core lies a careful approach to food: a curated selection of ingredients sourced from small producers, a strong focus on seasonality, and a culinary language that blends tradition with experimentation. The menu is dynamic, designed for sharing, and moves fluidly between everyday gastronomy and more refined dishes.

The open kitchen becomes part of the narrative, making the process visible and fostering a direct relationship between preparation and experience.

ILDE is a delicate balance — between bottega and restaurant, memory and innovation, simplicity and research.
A space where design is not just a backdrop, but a tool to enhance the overall experience.

FLOWER BURGER, MONZA

An explosion of color, energy, and identity.
For the new Flower Burger location in Monza, we designed a space that is instantly recognizable, immersive, and playful.

From the fully transparent façade—offering a glimpse into a vibrant, magnetic interior—to the indoor spaces where every element engages with a bold palette: saturated yellows, bright pinks, deep blues, and graphic details inspired by a contemporary pop aesthetic.

Warm wooden surfaces balance the more graphic and luminous components: colorful seating, pink metal structures, illustrated walls, and neon signage come together to create a cohesive and memorable visual narrative.
Every detail—from decorated tabletops to custom lighting elements—is designed to build rhythm, depth, and identity.

A project developed in close collaboration with .arredamenti , who translated the concept into a built reality with precision and sensitivity. Their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and ability to handle such vibrant materials and colors were essential to achieving this result.

Not just a restaurant, but an experience.
