Architecture creates a space for silence.

At St. Paolo Parish Church, architecture is reduced to its essential elements: concrete, light and space.

The solid monumental volume appears almost silent from the outside.
Light becomes the architecture’s most expressive element — falling across the concrete surfaces, revealing depth, shadow and time.

A space for contemplation, where material becomes atmosphere and silence becomes form.

Shaped by wind and sea.

On the Black Sea coast, Gelendzhik Airport takes its form from movement — the changing forces of wind, sea and light.

A continuous roof structure appears to hover above the landscape, creating a fluid connection between the airport and its surroundings.

Inside, the same language continues. Light, structure and movement shape the passenger experience, transforming an infrastructural building into a contemporary landmark for the region.

Movement can become architecture.

Inside Armani Chater House, a continuous architectural ribbon guides the retail experience from one space to the next.

Rather than separating circulation, display and interior, the flowing form transforms movement into the project’s defining spatial language. Geometry becomes experience, connecting architecture, product and visitor within one continuous composition.

More than a boutique, the project explores how architecture can express a brand through space, light and movement.

Stability and movement are often perceived as opposites.
The Guosen Securities Tower explores how they can coexist within a single architectural gesture.

Rather than expressing monumentality through mass, the project defines its identity through precision, proportion and the dynamic relationship between structure and void.

A sculpted vertical incision transforms a conventional office tower into an urban landmark, creating terraces, public spaces and visual connections across Shenzhen’s dense skyline.

Completed in Shenzhen, the tower brings together workplace, public realm and city into one continuous architectural composition.

Can architecture reduce the need for air conditioning?

According to Massimiliano Fuksas, it can.

In a recent interview with La Stampa, he reflects on how cities should respond to climate change through design rather than technology alone.

From natural ventilation and green infrastructure to the idea of housing as a place that protects well-being, the conversation explores how research becomes architecture.

Better orientation.
More shade.
Green infrastructure.
Natural ventilation.
Spaces designed for health before energy consumption.

Speaking about Shenzhen International Airport, Massimiliano Fuksas explains that the project was conceived to maximize daylight while minimizing heat gain — allowing the building to work with the climate before relying on mechanical systems.

Architecture is not only about buildings.
It is about improving the way we live.

Three decades of dialogue through architecture.

Architecture speaks different languages, yet it is built on the same values: innovation and heritage.

Across China, Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas have created projects that connect contemporary architecture with the identity of each city.

This journey is now collected in Fuksas China, published by ACTAR — a 440-page volume featuring 50 projects, documenting a long-standing architectural exchange between Italy and China.

Every project begins long before construction.

A sketch becomes an idea.
An idea becomes structure.
Structure becomes space.

The Rike Park Music Theatre and Exhibition Hall was conceived as two independent buildings connected by one invisible infrastructure, allowing architecture, engineering and landscape to work together as a single composition.

Much of what makes architecture possible is never seen.
Years of invisible work become a place for people.

A transparent veil unfolds above the rooftops of Rome.

What begins as a gesture above the city continues through the building, where glass, light and color transform the retail experience into a spatial journey. Suspended between history and the contemporary city, architecture becomes a dialogue between heritage and innovation.
