RECS Architects

Lo studio ReCS Architects è stato fondato nel 2011 da Pier Maria Giordani, Mario Scaffardi, Zhen Chen e Antonella Marzi, quattro architetti esperti in differenti campi di ricerca che spaziano dall’architettura all’urbanistica, con l’intento di riunire le proprie interdisciplinarità in un'unica identità professionale, convinti che il ruolo dell’architettura e dell’architetto nel nuovo millennio sia

no troppo articolati per essere gestiti da singoli individui. L’acronimo ReCS deriva da Re City Size ovvero ripensare la dimensione della città, dove lo spazio urbano viene immaginato come un organismo intelligente, inclusivo, vivibile, sostenibile, partecipato dal suo inestimabile capitale umano. Per raggiungere il nostro obiettivo, partendo dalla città del presente, la rinnoviamo(RE-Novate), rigenerando i suoi spazi, e la ridisegniamo (RE-Design), rendendola più bella e funzionale. Ripensiamo (RE-Think) il modo di abitare, per creare spazi fluidi, multiuso e sostenibili migliorando così la qualità della vita. Rivisitiamo lo spazio pubblico architettonico, creando città multicentriche in contesti naturali e utilizzando le nuove tecnologie per renderle “smart", fruibili e migliori. I concetti teorici trovano applicazione concreta in Laguna Ecopark a Sao Goncalo do Amarante dove stiamo realizzando la prima Smart City in social housing del mondo, interamente progettata da ReCS Architects.

The ReCS Architects studio was founded in 2011 by Pier Maria Giordani, Mario Scaffardi, Zhen Chen e Antonella Marzi, four architects, experts in different research fields, ranging from architecture to urban planning. Their aim was, and continues to be, to bring together interdisciplinary knowledge into a single professional identity, believing that the role of the Architecture and of the Architect in the new millennium is too articulated to be run by individual workers. The ReCS acronym originated from Re City Size that means Rethink the Size of the City: we imagine urban space as an intelligent, inclusive, viable, sustainable body, participated by its inestimable human capital. To achieve our goal, we begin from the present city, renew it (RE-Novate), regenerating its spaces, and improve/modernize (RE-Design), making it more beautiful and functional. We imagine by new (RE-Think) how to live, to create fluid, multipurpose and sustainable spaces, thus improving the quality of life. LWe re-examine the architecture of public spaces, creating multicentric cities in natural contexts and using new technologies to make them “smart”, usable, and more efficient. Theoretical concepts are been translated into reality in the Laguna Ecopark at Sao Goncalo do Amarante where we are realizing the first social housing Smart City of the world, entirely designed by ReCS Architects.
