Comfort needs change. An intelligent HVAC system adapts with them.

For this episode of Termodinamica’s 𝗪𝗵𝗼’𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 series, we asked Francesco Riga, 𝗛𝗩𝗔𝗖 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗺𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿:
What makes an HVAC system “smart”, in your opinion?

For Francesco, the answer lies in how sensors, electronics and software work together. Sensors provide information, electronics support the system’s response, and software turns that information into adjustments in real time.
The goal is practical: optimise performance and reduce energy consumption without compromising comfort.

Every vision begins with someone who sees an opportunity to make things better. For Termodinamica, that person is 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗼 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮, our 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 & 𝗖𝗧𝗢.

We asked him what inspired him to bring Termodinamica to life.

“𝘐 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘭𝘶𝘹𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘦𝘦.”

The idea took shape years ago, during time spent on board a yacht. Surrounded by carefully considered details, Maurizio realised that the air conditioning fell short of the luxury and comfort the setting promised.

That observation became a clear ambition: to make climate comfort an essential part of the yachting experience, deserving of the same care and attention as every other detail on board.

From the very first installations, yacht owners confirmed his intuition. They had expected more from their onboard comfort, and their feedback gave Maurizio the conviction to keep pushing that vision forward.

We’re proud to be among the 15 finalists of the Blue Wake Awards 2026.

Our submission presented real performance data from a 40m yacht travelling from Athens to Corfu in summer 2026, where our Direct Gas Expansion technology delivered a 63% reduction in both energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.

We’ll be at the Monaco Yacht Show from 23 - 26 September, where the winner will be announced.
