The Motor Valley University of Emilia-Romagna ( ) offers three international and inter-university Master’s Degree programs, taught entirely in English: Electric Vehicle Engineering, Electronic Engineering for Intelligent Vehicles and Advanced Automotive Engineering. MUNER and the Masters courses have been strongly promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region and have been created thanks to a synergy

At Varano, months of work came down to five days on track. 🏁

From scrutineering and static disciplines to acceleration, autocross and endurance, Formula SAE Italy 2026 put every project - and every team - to the test.

Around 1,600 students, 51 teams and 13 countries came together in the heart of Motor Valley.

For MUNER, it was a week to follow our four teams on track and celebrate the work behind them:

Where talent meets innovation. 🏁

Yesterday, students, faculty advisors and racing teams from Emilia-Romagna’s four universities were welcomed at the headquarters of the Regione Emilia-Romagna by President Michele de Pascale and Vice President Vincenzo Colla, together with the Rectors of the region’s universities.

From Formula SAE and MotoStudent to autonomous vehicles, electric boats, planetary rovers and more, these student-led projects are turning knowledge into real-world innovation - and putting Emilia-Romagna’s talent on the international stage.

For MUNER, this is exactly what learning by doing means: multidisciplinary teams, engineering challenges, competition, collaboration and a direct connection with the companies and industrial ecosystem of the Motor Valley.

And behind every prototype there is something even more important: young people building the skills, experience and confidence to shape the future of mobility and technology.

A big thank you to Regione Emilia-Romagna, President Michele de Pascale, Vice President Vincenzo Colla, the four universities, all the faculty advisors and, above all, the students who make these projects possible every day.

Formula SAE Italy 2026 is officially underway!

From 2 to 6 September, around 1,600 students from 13 countries will take on one of the most exciting engineering challenges of the year at the Autodromo R. Paletti in Varano de’ Melegari.

And for us at MUNER, Formula SAE is much more than a competition.

With four partner universities across Emilia-Romagna, MUNER connects students with one of the most powerful automotive ecosystems in the world - and supports the racing teams where they turn engineering knowledge into real-world experience.
From Formula SAE to MotoStudent, our students design, build, test and race alongside their university teams, putting the learning by doing approach into action.
Because the future of mobility isn't built only in classrooms.

POV: your Friday class is taught by Ferrari.

On 28 August, students of MUNER’s Industrial Engineering for Advanced Automotive Summer School got the chance to dive into the world of Ferrari during a dedicated seminar.

After two weeks of lectures, technical sessions and hands-on learning in Bologna, the Summer School wrapped up with a pretty memorable Friday.

Engineering, technology, performance - straight from the people working at the heart of the automotive industry.

Not a bad way to end two weeks in Motor Valley.

The School is part of the MUSE - Motorvehicle University Skills Empowerment project, organized by Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia, MUNER and Fondazione Marco Biagi, and co-funded by Regione Emilia-Romagna and the European Union through the FSE+ 2021–2027 programme.

Thanks to Ferrari for bringing the industry into the classroom.
