The restoration of the historic garden at Villa Rezzola, designed by AG&P greenscape, is featured in the latest issue of Giardino Italiano, Paysage’s publication dedicated to the best Italian and international garden design projects.

Overlooking the Gulf of Poets, the park is one of the finest examples of an early 20th-century Ligurian garden, where Mediterranean tradition meets naturalistic landscape design and a passion for rare plants.

Promoted by FAI - Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano (The National Trust for Italy) as part of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), the project brought the garden’s original design back to life through the restoration of its plant structures, the renewal of its botanical heritage, and the recovery of its historic water systems, strengthening its ecological and cultural value.

Caring for urban nature means creating opportunities for people to understand, experience and value it.

The long-standing collaboration between Fondazione Ricardo Catella (FRC) and AG&P greenscape is built on this shared vision. Together, we combine botanical expertise, education and public engagement to make BAM - Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano a place where biodiversity and nature become part of everyday life.

We are pleased to share some moments from the latest Botanical Walk with AG&P greenscape, held in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo and part of BAM’s Cultural Programme.
The tour also featured Spot, the quadruped robot developed by Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center.
Equipped with cameras and sensors provided by 3Bee, Spot has been monitoring and recording the sounds of the park, helping to detect and analyse the presence of insects and contributing to a deeper understanding of urban biodiversity.

Participation in the 28th SIU Conference 2026 provided an important opportunity to contribute to the discussion on the role of research in shaping contemporary cities.

On this occasion, Merezzate Smart District was presented as a case study through the scientific contribution by Alessandro Frigerio and Fabio Lepratto, highlighting the project as a model that integrates landscape architecture, public space, social housing, sustainable mobility and the circular economy.

An opportunity to share a design approach that places open space at the heart of creating urban environments capable of generating environmental and social value.

This year’s World Environment Day is an opportunity to reflect on how cities can respond to environmental challenges through concrete actions and long-term strategies. In this context, the recent announcement by Silvia Salis and Francesca Coppola on the introduction of depaving into Genoa’s Urban Plan sends a strong message: protecting natural resources and giving space back to nature must become an integral part of urban transformation.

For AG&P, Liguria represents an important testing ground for exploring these themes. Many of the projects that embody this approach are located in Genoa, where landscape and public space play a key role in addressing environmental and climate challenges.

It is an encouraging signal that highlights the growing importance of environmental awareness in shaping the future of our cities and communities.
