A private home under construction on Corstorphine Hill.
The grounded, subterranean structure is now complete.
Above, a lighter timber frame is beginning to define the buildings volume, and framing views to the distant landscape.
A collaboration between ATOMAA and Mills McCullough Architects, the project reflects a shared approach: thoughtful, context-led, and shaped through dialogue across studios, cultures, and ways of working.
The project explores a careful balance between weight and lightness, between what is held within the ground and what opens outward.
Materials are chosen for their integrity and raw character - used in a way that allows their natural qualities, process of making, and origins to remain legible.

Heading: Run to the newsstand!
We are thrilled to announce that our restoration project, Casa Sorelle San Pietro in Bergeggi, is featured in the latest issue of !

This project was a years-long journey of dedication and hard work.
The result fills us with pride — a delicate balance achieved through a shared dialogue with the Superintendency for the Architectural and Landscape Heritage of Liguria.
We aimed to respect strict conservation standards while meeting contemporary living needs, all while rediscovering the significant architectural legacy of Mario Galvagni.

In the design process, hand drawing is not just representation — it is thought taking shape. The pencil slows down time, allowing you to listen to space and explore intuitions no software can anticipate. Every imperfect line tells a story of choice, doubt, and discovery. Before architecture is built, it is first drawn — fragile, free, and deeply human.

Every week, the neighborhood market takes shape just below, along a street that connects the longest commercial strip in Europe (Buenos Aires–Monza) to Parco Trotter, where the first Italian airship once landed.
In what was once a mechanical outskirts and is now NoLo, lives the city of those who desire the city and love its bustle.
Here, two young lovers of dance have decided to embrace its tempos and syncopations: he a DJ, she a soloist at La Scala.

On this already written notebook, the time had come to compose a new story, made of light and of that spatial freedom for which dance longs.

The outdoor space has been carefully restored with a deep respect for the character of the historic village. Stone and natural lime plaster provide a timeless backdrop, while a vine of American grapes — beautifully integrated with the one that miraculously endured years of abandonment and the construction site — frames the setting with a sense of continuity and resilience. An olive tree, jasmine, and clusters of aromatic herbs breathe life and fragrance into the space, softening its edges with nature’s touch.

At the center stands the stone table, once again ready to welcome breakfasts in the morning light, convivial summer dinners, and long lunches sheltered by the lifesaving shade of the vine. A place reborn, where history and everyday rituals come together in harmony.

We’re beyond excited to share a glimpse of one of our most meaningful upcoming releases. After a long journey of design development, coordination with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage Office, and close collaboration with restoration experts, something special is about to take shape.

Set in Bergeggi, Savona, this project revisits one of the earliest works by Mario Galvagni (1956) on his visionary occupation of the untouched rocky promontory known as Torre del Mare.

In collaboration with Filippo Faletti, ATOMAA has taken on the delicate mission of restoring and reinterpreting a building that has weathered decades of transformations.
More to come. Stay tuned.

A special thanks to the technical staff of the Municipality of Bergeggi, and in particular to the client, for their foresight, patience, and sensitivity.

A new glass room brings fresh air to the villa.
Light and transparent, its iron-and-glass frame contrasts with the solid house while opening up to the trees outside.
Metal details give rhythm to the façade, hiding gutters and framing the windows with clean lines.
