Not every public building needs to be big.
San Cristoforo Ciclofficina is a small civic structure designed for 🌳🚲CICLOCHARD 🚲🌳 within Casello San Cristoforo in Milan, together with Tommaso Aliverti and Tommaso Sossi.
A place intended to repair bicycles that gradually became a space to meet people, learn new skills and host many unexpected forms of public life.

C_020 . KODA - The Luxury of Free space
KODA is a proposal for the Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2026 competition.

The project imagines a temporary timber pavilion for Tallinn’s harbour district, conceived as an open civic structure able to host everyday public life across different moments and uses.

Responding to the competition theme of luxury, the proposal interprets it as the possibility of freely appropriating space over time.

The project continues ORTUS’ research on spatial frameworks designed to remain open to change and collective use.

Building at 2,137 m in the Italian Dolomites.

Over the past months, this unique site, set within the extraordinary landscape of the Italian Dolomites, has become an exercise in contextual adaptation. The construction process, strictly shaped by shifting seasons, snow, and wind, has moved forward thanks to an incredible team.

A very special project we look forward to unveiling, developed together with Senoner Tammerle Architekten and in collaboration with .aaa : a precise and respectful integration into the natural landscape.

More contents about our ongoing school project near Bologna in the north of Italy.
Even at this stage, the building is already legible:
openings, distances, alignments: a simple system that begins to organise uses preserving adaptability.

The proportions come from what is already there, the surrounding rural buildings, their scale, their ordinary logic.

What is being built is intentionally elementary. A framework more than a form, meant to stay open over time allowing maximum freedom of use over time.
The construction process, documented by - , captures the gradual emergence of these built lines within the winter fog of the plain.

A sequence of rooms defined by walls and voids.

The plan develops as a clear spatial framework: classrooms, circulation and open spaces are arranged through parallel built lines, where each opening calibrates light, movement and possible uses.

At this stage of construction, the project reveals how a simple concrete structure begins to measure space: not as an isolated object, but as part of a wider rural continuity.

The large openings relate to the scale of nearby farm buildings, recalling the ordinary proportion of agricultural structures across the plain.

What appears elementary is intended to remain open: a public building designed for daily use, but capable of accommodating different forms of occupation over time.

What began years ago as a line drawn in the landscape is now taking shape as a new public kindergarten in the northern Italian plain near Bologna.

The project is based on a simple principle: parallel walls placed in the landscape. These built lines define classrooms between interior and open fields, working with the flat horizon of the Po Valley and its agricultural grid.

Specificity and abstraction operate together. The walls respond to this precise territory while establishing a clear spatial system: an elementary public structure, adaptable and robust, open to future transformations beyond its current use as a kindergarten.

After a very long journey, the construction of the new kindergarten in the small town of Molinella is underway.
Designed to host up to 160 children, the project is conceived as a simple and adaptable structure allowing for a multiplicity of future public uses.
Parallel walls define open and flexible classrooms in close relationship with nature and the surrounding landscape, offering protected yet imaginative space for the children.
