St. Anthony M. Zaccaria St. Anthony Zaccaria (1502-1539) was an Italian priest and early leader of the Counter-Reformation. He founded the Clerics Regular of St.

Paul and was a promoter of the Eucharist, devotion to the Passion of Christ, and religious renewal among the laity.
