The central club for a plotted development in Nagpur draws on a vernacular architectural language, integrating passive cooling strategies to respond to the region’s extreme climatic conditions.
The built forms are thoughtfully positioned to allow the landscape to traverse through the development, creating a sequence of inward and outward courtyards. Spaces of varying volumes, tailored to their respective functions, are interconnected by shaded corridors.
The interior palette is inspired by Gond art, a traditional art form indigenous to the region. The Gond art mural on the external facade along with sculptures lends the architecture a distinct regional identity.
