Kruger Ventilation Industries India Pvt. Ltd. was delighted to host an insightful industrial visit for student members of ISHRAE Thane Chapter from Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Kurla, at our manufacturing facility in Shahapur.

The visit provided students with a firsthand understanding of industrial ventilation systems, air movement technologies, modern manufacturing practices, and real-world engineering applications.

Such industry interactions play an important role in bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical experience. It was truly inspiring to engage with these enthusiastic future engineers and share insights into the world of HVAC and ventilation.

42% Energy Saving Achieved Through HVAC Retrofit – Hyderabad Project

We successfully completed an HVAC retrofit project in Hyderabad, delivering a 42% reduction in electrical energy consumption while maintaining the required airflow and system performance.

Project Overview

📍 Location: Hyderabad, India

The existing belt-driven fan was replaced with a high-efficiency direct-drive plug fan featuring an IE5 Ultra Premium Efficiency motor and a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD).

✅ 42% reduction in electrical energy consumption

✅ Required airflow maintained

✅ Improved overall system efficiency

✅ Elimination of belt-related power losses

✅ Reduced maintenance with direct-drive design

✅ Lower operating noise and vibration

✅ Enhanced motor efficiency with IE5 technology

✅ Precise airflow control using VFD

By eliminating belt losses and combining an IE5 motor with VFD speed control, the system now operates much closer to its optimum efficiency across varying load conditions.

This project demonstrates that significant energy savings can be achieved without compromising ventilation performance. For facilities operating ageing AHUs, Air Washers, Fresh Air, or Exhaust Air systems with belt-driven fans, a well-engineered retrofit can reduce energy consumption, lower operating costs, and support sustainability goals with an attractive payback period.
