Our next episode is special.
It has 2 life-long friends talking about a subject they deeply care about: .
No mode of transport is perfect.
The Hindenburg airship crossed the Atlantic ocean safely 30+ times - and then it had a crash.
Airplanes, trains, cars...they can all be improved.
The are no different. EVs are, relatively speaking, a new form of transport. There's a lot of - and a fair amount of uncertainty.
How to navigate this?
This episode asks:
- Do EVs have any down sides?
- Are there past mistakes that the sector must not repeat?
And much more.

Safety - is it a FEATURE?
Here's our answer: absolutely not.
Safety is a . This is the mindset that has driven us to build the world's safest e-bikes.
To achieve our , we discovered - and inserted - industry first features in our e-bikes.
Haptic vibrations. Blind spot assist. Those are the technical terms.
Here's the simpler explanation: 360° awareness for you, the rider.
Here's what imperils the rider on the road (most of the time): what they can't see.
That is, what is right behind them.
What our do: alert you to incoming from behind.
It's a little bit like having eyes on your back.
On a Calamus Ultra , you stay safe out there.

€1, generate €3.6.
This is not a financial scam - this is the magic of bike lanes.
found that for every €1 invested in bicycle lanes, they created €3.6. How?
With bicycle lanes, people:
- Became healthier. This saved the country many health costs down the line.
- Moved more efficiently. Bicycle lanes made travel more , giving people options and saving them time.
Countries can get stuck up on the upfront costs of biking - but the long-term view clearly favors more bike lanes!

There's one way have an edge.
In developed countries, past mistakes are "frozen." Here's an example:
50 years ago, western countries demolished buildings to create more space for cars.
This increased congestion!
Lesson: no matter how much space you give to cars, they'll take it all up.
Developing countries are more and learn from their developed peers' .
Instead of widening roads for cars, cities should widen them for .
That's a more , human-scaled, and healthier way to move.
And guess what?
Their compact form ensures they don't cause congestion!

“We should start something together man!” said one engineer to the the other (best friends and room mates)
Believe it or not, that is exactly how it started. It may sound too cliche in the start-up era but we dreamed to be build an amazing Electric vehicle company.
So we began learning, researching, talking. We found that the number of people in India still without personal transport is massive, and this is majorly in tier 3 cities and lower. People cannot afford the luxury of having a motor vehicle in rural/tier 3 cities. We kept researching for some time until we realised that what if we made bamboo electric cycles. Why bamboo electric cycles you may ask?
People thought we were crazy(we still are) that we will make bamboo cycles that too electric.
You see what people don’t realise is, iron bamboo happens to be as light as aluminium, as strong as steel and more flexible than carbon fiber and best part is it can be easily grown in India, oh also it grows completely in a day. I know it sounds revolutionary, but bamboo cycles have existed for more than a century. It’s as beautiful as it is revolutionary.
So we built a frame.
Soon realised that it is not feasible to produce at a small scale especially to get to the prices we were looking for.
We soon shifted towards making an electric cycle that everyone can afford without any compromise to quality, safety and reliability using the best of components and materials.
Soon came along another crazy engineer and joined the party, together we decided we would build a cycle that is not only the best but also affordable.
