Something to share. Every now a then a customer comes to us asking to recharge or top up refrigerant in their vehicles as they experience low cooling, most often it is not a lack of refrigerant that is the cause of low cooling ,in vehicles there is always loss of refrigerants, a leak is the most common cause, when gas leaks out some oil in the air conditioning unit oil is also lost, it is important that oil is added when charging refrigerant, otherwise irreparable damage to compressor will occur. It is always advisable that a system leak test with dry nitrogen is carried, the leakage is rectified, system is evacuated with a good vacuum pump, oil is added and charged with gas(refrigerant) to the correct amount. Over charging will cause various problems .It is advised the above work is carried out at dedicated air conditioning repair shop/agency
