🇮🇳🤝🇩🇪 Strengthening India’s Ship Design & Engineering Capabilities

At SMM Hamburg 2026, Ozean Engineering GmbH, Germany and Nirmon Marine & Offshore Design Pvt. Ltd., India signed an MoU to strengthen collaboration in ship design, marine engineering, technology transfer and knowledge sharing.

The partnership brings together German maritime engineering expertise and Indian engineering capabilities to support Indian shipyards with internationally proven vessel designs and locally accessible technical expertise.

The collaboration will contribute to:
🔹 Strengthening indigenous ship design capabilities
🔹 Enhancing the competitiveness of Indian shipyards
🔹 Reducing dependence on overseas engineering support
🔹 Enabling technology & knowledge transfer
🔹 Building a stronger, self-reliant shipbuilding ecosystem

This Indo-German collaboration marks another step towards and a globally competitive Indian maritime industry.

A significant step towards a more self-reliant and globally competitive Indian shipbuilding ecosystem.

QUEST Flow Controls Limited ( ), India and Georg Schunemann GmbH ( ), Germany have signed an MoU for technology transfer and manufacturing expertise in advanced submarine valves.

The collaboration will support the P75(I) programme, drive localisation of critical submarine equipment, and create opportunities for Indian-manufactured high-performance valves in global markets.

Shipyards Association of India ( ), welcomes such industry partnerships that advance Make in India, Aatmanirbhar Bharat and India’s journey towards becoming a global shipbuilding hub.🇮🇳

SAI member - Vedam Design & Technical Consultancy and R.R. Maritime Engineering B.V. signed an MoU at to deepen partnership and create greater value for the global maritime industry.

Together, they aim to:
🔹 Develop custom dredgers for India’s growing maritime needs
🔹 Expand Vedam’s engineering & decarbonisation services in Europe
🔹 Strengthen digital inspection solutions
