One habit has completely changed the way we manage both Insitu Design Studio and Kalakaari Haath.
Everything goes on the calendar.
Not just client meetings or presentations, but even a five-minute discussion that needs a decision. Once time is blocked, it stops being an intention and becomes a commitment.
Our Monday and Friday check-ins are a big part of that system.
They’re never longer than 30 minutes, and they’re not brainstorming sessions. They’re simply an opportunity to ask a few important questions:
• Are we on track?
• What’s been delayed?
• What needs immediate attention?
• What’s the plan to get things back on schedule?
We already use project management tools, but no software can replace a quick conversation with the people leading the work.
These meetings happen every single week, whether I’m in the studio or not. If I’m away, our Head of Projects leads them. They’re permanent calendar invites, and nothing else gets scheduled over them.
Creative businesses thrive on flexibility.
But they also need rhythm, accountability, and consistent communication.
That’s exactly what these 30 minutes are for.
