Can a small balcony become your favourite place at home?
In a city like South Mumbai, where every square foot matters, balconies often become storage spaces or are left empty.
But we saw something different.
We saw the opportunity to create a little escape from the city's constant rush.
The first thing you'll notice is the Buddha, quietly sitting amidst the greenery. It isn't just a décor piece - it sets the mood for the entire space. A gentle reminder to slow down, breathe, and enjoy a few peaceful moments every day.
Around it, every plant has its own role to play.
The bold Fiddle Leaf Fig adds height and makes a statement. The delicate Ming Aralia brings softness, while the colourful Croton Petra adds a splash of warmth. Schefflera, Spider Plant, and the trailing Monstera Adansonii add different textures, making the balcony feel lush without feeling crowded.
One of my favourite corners is the herb garden.
Simple terracotta pots filled with Tulsi, Mint, and Lemon bring in a lovely earthy touch. They add a beautiful pop of warm colour while giving the homeowners fresh herbs that they can use every day. Functional, beautiful, and full of life.
And then there's a detail many people miss...
The choice of planters.
Their clean, minimal design beautifully complements the intricate inlay pattern of the flooring instead of competing with it. When the planters, plants, and flooring work together, the entire balcony feels intentional and complete.
That's what good plant styling is all about.
It's not about adding more plants.
It's about creating the right balance - between colours, textures, materials, and emotions.
Because the best-designed spaces don't just look beautiful.
They make you feel something.
What's one thing your dream balcony must have - meditation corner, a cup of morning coffee, or your own little herb garden? 🌱
