In 1965, visionary businessman V A Mohamed Kunju founded Oriental Steel Trunks and Agrico Industries. A small manufacturing unit of agricultural equipment, the unit even manufactured trunk boxes for Navy personnel. Half a century back, when aluminium was relatively unknown in Kerala, Mohamed Kunju could still foresee the vast potential of the new age metal. He started aluminium trading in the 1970s. Oriental Steel Trunks and Agrico Industries later became Oralium in 1980, in tune with the company’s corporate strategy for a more focused approach to aluminium trading. Thus Aluminium retailing started.

An inspiring success story

Constantly setting new benchmarks of excellence in the infrastructure sector, Oralium Ltd., has an inimitable track record spanning over three decades. The name has become synonymous with iron & steel and aluminium trading and manufacturing.

What started as a small trading firm at Market Road, the business centre of Cochin, has today become a colossus in retail and wholesale Aluminium trading in the state, providing complete solutions to the state’s diverse Aluminium needs. Oralium is the biggest distributor and dealer not only in Kerala but in India.
