Calgary, AB, was home to our very first plant back in 1951, and it’s still producing today. 🏭

This 200,000-square-foot site has evolved through decades of renovations, with a new plant built from the ground up in 2013. Today, the facility operates a four-wide laminator shingle line and produces a wide range of products, including Dynasty, Nordic, Cambridge, Hip & Ridge 12, and Leading Edge Plus.

More than seven decades of started here. The plant remains an important part of the IKO network, one of seven shingle plants, with another on the way. 💪

We’d like to share a truly remarkable piece of Decra history with you.

Attached is a photo taken at our factory roof in New Zealand—a real‑world, long‑term testing site located approximately 1.2 km from the Tāmaki River estuary, placing it firmly within a coastal influence zone.

On this roof, Decra tiles have been exposed to some of the most demanding UV and marine conditions New Zealand has to offer.

The tile pictured was manufactured and installed in 1985.

After more than 40 years of continuous exposure to coastal salt air and intense UV radiation, it shows no visible signs of significant corrosion—structure and coating integrity remain intact.

This is not a laboratory result. This is not a simulation. This is the real thing.
