Tucked into the rhythm of Mumbai’s dining scene, White Arc unfolds like a series of framed vignettes each archway a threshold into the next mood. Sameer Durve Architects lean into the drama of scale here, letting sweeping timber arches rise through double-height ceilings to choreograph movement across the restaurant’s many rooms.
The palette speaks in warm timber and cobalt blue, a pairing that nods to coastal Mediterranean sensibilities while staying rooted in tropical practicality. Reeded white lattice screens filter light and views without fully concealing them, lending the space a sense of layered privacy; peer through, and a jewel-box bar glows beyond, its glass shelving lined with bottles and stemware catching the light like a curated cabinet of curiosities.
Underfoot, hand-laid patterned tiles in ochre, teal and cream anchor the wooden-floored dining bays, while brass filigree lanterns and a statement chandelier cast a honeyed glow reminiscent of old-world Bombay cafés. Cane-back chairs in warm rattan, upholstered in dusty rose and teal, soften the architecture’s strong geometric lines, and indigo table linens punctuate the neutral backdrop with quiet formality.
What emerges is a restaurant that reads less like a single room and more like a sequence of arrival arch by arch, texture by texture where classic Indian craft detailing meets a distinctly contemporary sense of restraint. It’s a space designed to slow you down.
