Worms in guavas 😱😱 Bactrocera fruit fly lifecycle..!
🪱The tiny white "worms" we see inside guava fruits are the larval stage of various fruit fly species like Bactrocera sp.
🌧Infestations is more during the monsoon crop ( rainy season ) because the high humidity and moderate temperatures provide the perfect breeding ground for most insects be it fruit flies, moths or butterflies. Conversely, the winter crop experiences significantly fewer infestations due to colder, drier conditions.
🪱Accidentally consuming a few larvae is harmless to human health because human stomach acid (HCl) easily neutralizes them. However, heavily infested fruits should be discarded.

Pro tip Before Eating: Always cut your guavas open rather than biting into them whole. Look for tiny worms with macro lense.
Or
Just keep it in fridge ( inside a big steel bowl covered - larvae will crawl out because all insects can't handle the fridge temperature because insects are cold blooded and after coming out they will be immovable without warmth )
