Umesh C Vaish

A place to share my painting demonstrations, artworks and tips and tricks. I specialise in watercolour portraits. Former Air Force aviator turned artist.

Drawing portraits had my interest for as long as I can remember. Although none of my masterpieces survive to this day. I have had an amazingly satisfying and fulfilling career as a helicopter pilot in Indian Air Force and hung my flying boots in July 22. Since then I can devote a lot more time into my passions - portraiture being one of them. I love to bring out the human emotions in the faces and

with an interplay of colours, light and shadows. While I began as a self taught artist, I thought it better to be coached by some of the world's best artists like Thomas Schaller, Daniel Scott Pierce and of course Marcos Beccari. My work is highly influenced by Marcos Beccari and J Hunsung. Apart from painting, I have keen interest in a whole lot of other activities which I keep dabbling in time to time. Currently my favourites are guitar, terrace gardening, motorcycle riding and DIY projects. I love to share my knowledge, so if you are someone willing to learn, do contact me for a personalised class. While I am open to commissioned work, I undertake selected projects. This, for most part, depends on the time I have and of course how much the project inspires me.

Those were the days..

Some images just stop you in your tracks. The images that evoke a question about what could be going one in the persons mind? This was one such. To me she appeared to be reminiscing some happy times, perhaps from her childhood days, a bubbly teenager may be?..

The Soul Divine

The rhythm of life beats on,
a hush of night's sweet song,
In the dance of stars above,
soul symphony is heard.

With each heartbeat, every breath,
A harmony beyond measure,
Love's melody is found,
In the stars that swirl around.

It's a song that never dies,
A ballet of love divine,
Echoes through the starlit skies,
That touches every heart and mind.

With the beat of our hearts beyond,
To find a love that knows no bounds,
With the stars and all around.

The Rain's Whisper

The rain whispers secrets,
On the car's window panes,
She listens, lost in thought,
To life's memories and strains.

Her gaze, a portal to the past,
Her thoughts, a mystery untold,
Her heart, a labyrinth of love,
Her soul, a story to unfold.

The raindrops dance and play,
A mesmerizing sight to see,
And as she watches them, she prays,
For clarity and serenity.

For in this moment of stillness,
With the rain as her only friend,
She finds comfort in its gentle caress,
And a peace that never ends.
