October 13, A plantation drive was conducted today at Government Middle School, Rangrez Mohalla, Kulgam, under the banner of the Green J&K Drive. The programme was attended by DFO Kulgam along with the Range Officer, Kulgam. The drive aimed to promote environmental awareness, encourage tree plantation, and highlight the importance of protecting and conserving the environment. The initiative also sought to motivate students to actively participate in making their surroundings greener and healthier. Officials from forest department & school staff along with students participated in the drive.

October 1, Under the mission “Swactha hi Sewa hai” Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Kulgam along with ACD Kulgam & BDO Pombay, kick started plantation drive carried out jointly by forest department & RDD department to enhance green cover and promote cleaner & healthier environment under the banner J&K Green Drive.
Officials from forest department & RDD department participated in the event.

September 24, The Divisional Forest Officer(DFO) Kulgam along with the Range Officer Kulgam, conducted an extensive field tour of the Malwan Beat of Chambagund Forest Block. During the course of the tour, the following key activities were undertaken:
1. Road Inspection: The officer inspected the Malvan Bonnard Gujar Basti Road.
2. ⁠CAMPA Closure Inspection: The Malinag CAMPA closure, located at N/27c Herbal Garden, was thoroughly inspected.
3. ⁠Community Outreach: The officer actively interacted with the local residents and the Gujar community to listen to their concerns and greviences. Their genuine concerns and grievances were heard patiently and they were assured of all possible support from the Department.

The GNSS digitization of Kulgam Forests is currently in progress. The DGPS Team of Special Forest Division Kulgam, under the directions of the Divisional Forest Officer Kulgam, has successfully completed the digitization of 17 forest files so far. The team is continuing the work with dedication and commitment to ensure timely and accurate digitization of the remaining forest records.

September 17, The Divisional Forest Officer, Special Forest Division Kulgam visited various forest areas falling in the territorial jurisdiction of D H Pora Range.The officer concerned was accompanied by the Range Officer D H Pora and Range Officer Veshew alongside territorial Forest Staff. During the visit, the officer held discussion with local people in Ringat area falling in forest compartment N-26 over the dispute regarding the construction of road wherein, the officer assured the local people that their issues shall be addressed on priority as per prescribed norms.The officer thereafter visited Panchanpathri and took stock of the recently built infrastructure there and asked concerned staff to remain vigilant at their place of posting to avert any kind of mishap in the respective area of their duties.

September 16, Inter-departmental field visit of Baba Dawood–Lammer Road was done by a team of Special Forest Division Kulgam in Coordination with the Rural Development Department (RDD) and Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department to facilitate the road connecting two tribal villages.
