Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer
Location: Ernakulam
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a culture of safety, and minimize workplace hazards. The EHS Officer will be responsible for implementing and enforcing health, safety, and environmental policies across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Compliance & Regulations:
Ensure the company complies with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
Keep up to date with evolving EHS laws, standards, and industry best practices.
✅ Risk Assessment & Safety Audits:
Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards.
Recommend corrective measures and track their implementation.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
✅ Training & Awareness:
Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees.
Promote a safety-first culture through workshops, awareness campaigns, and safety drills.
✅ Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire drills and first aid programs.
Ensure the availability and maintenance of safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, PPE, and first aid kits.
✅ Environmental Management:
Monitor environmental impacts related to company operations.
Develop waste management, pollution control, and sustainability programs.
✅ Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain safety records, accident reports, and compliance documentation.
Prepare reports for management on EHS performance and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
✔ Education: Bachelor’s degree
✔ Certifications (Mandatory): NEBOSH certification.
✔ Experience: 0-1 years of experience in workplace safety, environmental management, or a similar role.
✔ Skills:
Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and industry standards.
Excellent problem-solving and risk assessment abilities.
Effective communication and training skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and safety management software.
