किसने कहा कि लाइब्रेरी सिर्फ शहरों में होती हैं?

उत्तराखंड के रुद्रप्रयाग जिले का छोटा सा मणीगुह गांव आज हिमालय का पहला Library Village बन चुका है।

समुद्र तल से 1,664 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर बसे इस गांव में 20,000 से ज्यादा किताबें हैं, जिन्हें कोई भी मुफ्त में पढ़ सकता है। यहां सिर्फ एक लाइब्रेरी नहीं, बल्कि गांव और ट्रेकिंग रास्तों पर बने 8 पुस्तक मंदिर भी हैं, जहां लोग प्रकृति के बीच बैठकर किताबों का आनंद ले सकते हैं।

हिंदी, अंग्रेजी, उर्दू, संस्कृत, कश्मीरी और पंजाबी भाषा की किताबों से सजी यह लाइब्रेरी बच्चों, छात्रों, प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं की तैयारी करने वालों और गांव की महिलाओं के लिए ज्ञान का खजाना बन चुकी है।

सबसे दिलचस्प बात?
यहां कार्तिक स्वामी मंदिर जाने वाले ट्रेकिंग रूट को भी ज्ञान मार्ग के रूप में विकसित किया जा रहा है, ताकि यात्री रास्ते में किताबों के साथ भी समय बिता सकें।

लेकिन मणीगुह की कहानी सिर्फ किताबों तक सीमित नहीं है। यहां महिलाएं चीड़ (पिरुल) की सूखी पत्तियों से राखियां और हस्तशिल्प बनाकर आय बढ़ा रही हैं, जबकि मधुमक्खी पालन और सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम गांव में नए अवसर पैदा कर रहे हैं।

पलायन की चुनौती से जूझ रहे पहाड़ों में मणीगुह एक नई उम्मीद बनकर उभरा है—जहां किताबें सिर्फ पढ़ी नहीं जातीं, बल्कि पूरे गांव का भविष्य बदल रही हैं।

अगर भारत के हर गांव में ऐसी एक लाइब्रेरी हो, तो शायद कई जिंदगियां बदल सकती हैं।
