At a recent knowledge session on Glass as a material, the discussion covered how glass selection changes depending on where it’s applied in a building, from performance glass that cuts down solar heat gain to laminated glass that reduces UV transmission and adds acoustic benefits.

The session also explored the practical side of facade glass selection, running mockups before finalising a specification, and where ceramic frit comes in, both for its visual effect and its performance role on a facade.

A look back at a workshop that shifted how we think about communication, led by Priyanka Renjen Kumar (PCC), Co-founder of Wings Team.

Beyond words, the session unpacked the quieter layers of how we communicate through perspective, body language, and the small shifts in lens that change how a conversation actually lands, at work and outside of it.

Climate-responsive design, expressed through material.

At A-47, stone columns work as vertical shading fins. Metal mesh and louvres together shape a facade that performs as much as it appears.

At A-47, the design started with the basic built mass required by the plan. Wrap-around balconies were interspersed according to internal planning and design to create visual character. Stone columns, metal mesh, and louvres were added last, each one tuned to improve the shading performance.

At A-47 in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, the planning follows the plot’s orientation, setbacks, and solar exposure. The front faces southwest and west, so it catches strong afternoon sun. The rear faces east and northeast, so it sees the early morning light instead.

These conditions were mapped through sun-path analysis that set the framework for everything that followed: massing, orientation, and eventually the façade.

The 3-5-7 rule of grouping objects in threes, fives, or sevens is a simple styling principle that shows up on coffee tables, consoles, and shelves across our own projects. Odd number groupings create a natural rhythm that keeps the eye moving.

A small shift, but one that can make a styled space feel considered rather than staged.
