My first trip to Nepal was for an event.It was sort of a gathering/exhibition.Where the motive was to bring awareness about medicinal mushroom to the locals and travelers.I was a part as an psychedelics motivated visionary artist.I did fire flower for the same event and took my collection along.

During that time my friend took me to the local thangka artists who was working on commissioned painting for him.We met 3 to 4 different artists in their shop,that was the time that I got to know this style that I was seeing here n there was called thangka.I decided to do a thangka piece when I returned back to Delhi.Its been more than a year working on this piece and here I am.

The deity is sitting in the garden at the centre of the temple,with four gates in each direction.The gates are guarded with gaja (sacred elephants).Eyes in each corner represent consciousness which is the basis of the temple itself.The wheel is sitting on the tree of life,holding the construct strong.I tried to show the different dimensions or plains around the corners to give a glimpse into interconnectedness of different realities.

SINGHA under the full moon
guardians deity of the temple doors.

When you walking around in Kathmandu around darbar square area. You will notice this deity sitting in front of temples.
They are sitting on both side of the gate one represented as male and another one as female. Carved out of some kinda stone.
I wanted to paint something out from the culture. I used acrylics,it is not a uv piece,these kinda pieces bring a lot of challenges.I used golden to represented the richness of the culture and red to show the insides of the form. I painted it live in freak street front of ultra tribe nepal store,people walking by,bikes passing by,not to forget the doobs and talk sessions. It’s gonna stay here in freak street for selling.

SINGHA the word itself is so powerful that the Parliament House is basically call SINGH DARBAR.
it is a lion spirit who is said to be the king of the jungle but sits peacefully to guard the doors.

With this painting my journey also comes to an end will be leaving for India soon.
Nepal has treated me good, more freaking in coming times.

Inspired by the famous painting of Leonardo da Vinci.The Vitruvian Man.When i saw his painting,an Idea popped up in my mind.Why don’t take this work and make something around it.What I wanted to show with this, Artwork is how the mind of all these geniuses worked,who came and rewrote the history. Leonardo was one of them.He was a multitalented visionary.There is something out there,when we are tuned into some work, which we like we tap into a sacred knowledge, an alien like intelligence and yes, it can possibly be the source.This piece is like an blueprint which shows a portal different devices and human body parts.Blueprint for transcending beyond the physical to attain the mystical.
