Parul Agarwal (Parul Gupta Agarwal), joined a panel discussion at D-arc Build 2026 (D-arc BUILD) on 18th September 2026 to discuss how AI and BIM are reshaping the way architects design, plan, and build.

She spoke about how AI isn’t here to replace design intuition; it’s here to support it. From speeding up iterations during early design stages to catching clashes before they become costly site problems, AI and BIM together are helping architects spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time on the ideas that actually shape a space.

She also touched on how these tools are changing collaboration itself; with architects, engineers, and contractors now working off the same intelligent model, reducing miscommunication and rework across a project’s lifecycle. But she was clear about one thing: technology should assist good design thinking, not dictate it. The most successful projects will always be the ones where human judgment and creativity still lead the process.

Grateful to D-arc Build, Creative Group LLP, and Smart Habitat Foundation for creating this platform for such an important dialogue.

Does a Building Influence How We Learn?

We tend to think of a school as a setting for education, a place where teaching happens within classrooms. But architecture can do more than accommodate learning. It can quietly influence how we experience it.

At the proposed Delhi Public School at Gurugram, our approach began with this premise: the building itself should contribute to the character of the learning environment.

The facade is conceived as a continuous architectural expression rather than a collection of isolated elements. Warm terracotta brick moves through broad, sweeping curves, while generous bands of glazing bring daylight deep into the building. As one moves around the structure, the architectural rhythm evolves from softer, flowing forms to more defined vertical expressions thus creating variety without losing coherence.

The entrance extends this idea beyond the building envelope. A restrained water feature, framed by carefully clipped greenery, creates a moment of calm and transition before students enter the school. It is a simple spatial gesture, but one that acknowledges an important aspect of learning: the state of mind with which we enter a space matters.

At Renascent Consultants, we see architecture not as a passive backdrop to education, but as an active part of the learning environment. Light, scale, material, movement, proportion, landscape and spatial sequence can collectively influence how people feel, focus, interact and engage.

Because ultimately, designing a school is not only about designing spaces for learning.

It is about asking whether the spaces themselves can help us learn better.

Can architecture shape the way we learn? We believe the answer begins with asking the right questions.

Our Founding Partner, Dr. Bakul Chandra (Bakul Chandra), took the stage at the Fire Safe Build India (FSBI) (Fire Safe Build India (FSBI)) Conference 2026 to address a subject that deserves to be considered at the very heart of architectural design:

“Designing for Fire Safety: Integrating Passive Fire Protection in High-Rise Buildings.”

His message went beyond the conventional checklist of codes, clearances and compliance. Instead, he posed a more fundamental question:

Should fire safety be something we add to a building—or something we design into it from the very beginning?

Passive fire protection is most effective when it is not treated as a separate technical layer, but integrated into the architecture and structure from the earliest stages of design. Fire-resistant construction, compartmentation, protected escape routes, structural fire resistance and carefully considered interfaces can work quietly in the background, limiting the spread of fire and smoke and creating the time necessary for people to evacuate safely.

As buildings become taller, denser and more complex, the consequences of design decisions become increasingly significant. The margin for error narrows, and safety cannot be left to the final stages of documentation, approvals or installation.

At Renascent Consultants, we believe that resilience is not an accessory to architecture. It is part of its responsibility.

Good design must do more than accommodate function, respond to context or create architectural expression. It must anticipate risk, protect occupants and perform when circumstances are at their most demanding.

Fire safety, therefore, should not be a regulatory afterthought. It should be a fundamental design consideration embedded in the building from day one.

We are proud to have contributed to this important dialogue at FSBI Conference 2026 and to continue advocating for a more integrated approach to fire-safe, resilient architecture.

What If a Colour Had a Message?
At Delhi Public School, Meerut, every design decision speaks. Colour was never just a finishing touch; it was chosen the way a school chooses its values.

Colour psychology tells us that green is associated with growth, balance, and calm, the very qualities a learning environment hopes to nurture in young minds. So instead of treating it as decoration, we let it run through the design like a quiet thread: in the boardroom ceiling, the upholstery in the principal’s office, the planters lining the lobby, the rugs grounding every room.

The result isn’t a “green building.” It’s a space that feels rooted, growing, and alive, much like the students who walk through it every day. Because good design doesn’t just decorate a space. It gives it a voice. And here, that voice speaks softly, consistently, in every shade of green.

At Renascent Consultants, we believe design should never just look good — it should mean something. And at Delhi Public School, Meerut, that meaning was written, quite literally, in colour.

The Psychology of Healthcare Design.

Design has the power to shape how people feel the moment they walk in.

Clear signage and numbered counters turn a stressful first step into a guided one. Open wards let patients see that care is always close by. Calm waiting areas ease the mind before a consultation even begins. Warm consultation rooms help patients speak more openly. And a welcoming lobby sets the tone the moment someone walks in.

None of this is decoration — it’s design working quietly in the background to reduce fear, build trust, and bring a sense of calm to one of life’s most vulnerable moments.

Because in healthcare, how a space makes you feel is just as important as how it functions.

“A home should tell the story of the people who live in it.”

We are delighted to share that The Banaras Residence has been featured in GoodHomes India.

Designed in collaboration with Ochre Wall, this multi-generational home in Varanasi was imagined for three generations—working around an existing structural grid while creating a home that feels open, independent, and deeply connected to the outdoors. Rather than recreating the city of Banaras literally, the design draws from its essence: unhurried, rooted in craft, and layered with a sense of time.

Natural light, warm timber, exposed brick, stone, cane, heirloom furniture, handcrafted details, and carefully collected art come together to create a home that feels personal rather than decorated. Each material was chosen not only for how it looks, but for how it ages and becomes part of the life unfolding around it.

Grateful to see this story of craft, memory, and thoughtful collaboration on a platform that celebrates meaningful design.

Celebrating the Ones Who Guide Us Daily.

Somewhere along the way, we start to realise that the best leaders are often the best teachers too. They don’t just give instructions; they guide. They don’t just correct mistakes; they explain, patiently, so the lesson stays. And they don’t just build teams; they build people, one small moment of wisdom at a time.

At Renascent Consultants, we took a moment to celebrate that spirit. Not just for the teachers who once shaped us, but for the everyday mentors within our own team, the ones who quietly guide, encourage, and uplift everyone around them. It’s this culture of learning and leading together that shapes not just better professionals, but a genuinely better place to work.

With cake, laughter, and a lot of gratitude, we celebrated the wisdom that keeps us growing — as individuals and as a team.

Here’s to every teacher we’ve had, and every leader among us who continues to teach without ever calling it that.

The structure finds its rhythm.

What do you see when you look at a building under construction? Concrete and steel? Temporary scaffolding and unfinished walls? Or the moment when an idea begins its journey towards becoming architecture?

How much of a building’s final success is actually decided before its finishes ever appear?

We believe this is where the real discipline of building begins. A structure under construction has a certain honesty. Nothing is hidden. The concrete, reinforcement and framework reveal the logic behind the architecture. What may appear chaotic from a distance is, in reality, part of a carefully coordinated sequence where architecture, structure, services, materials and ex*****on must work together.

This is the stage where drawings meet reality. Design intent is tested against structural requirements, construction tolerances, workmanship and the practical challenges of the site. Here, architecture stops being merely an image and starts becoming a responsibility. Good buildings are not created in one dramatic moment. They evolve layer by layer. The foundation must be right before the structure rises. The structure must be right before spaces are enclosed. And the invisible decisions must be resolved before the visible architecture can succeed.

What begins as a vision slowly takes shape through concrete, steel and precision. Because long after the structure is concealed behind finished surfaces, its strength—and the quality of the architecture it supports—will remain rooted in the rhythm established here.

What do you think matters most at this stage of construction?

A Residence Shaped by the Quiet Art of Living.

At Renascent, we believe residential architecture is not about creating spaces that simply impress. It is about creating spaces that respond—quietly and intuitively—to the way people actually live.

This residence was conceived as a composition of different experiences, each responding to a particular mood of everyday life.

The drawing room establishes a sense of arrival and openness, creating a setting for conversation and social interaction. The family room is warmer and more relaxed, bringing people together in a more informal setting. Elsewhere, smaller and quieter spaces provide moments of retreat, reflection and pause.

The design does not seek uniformity. Instead, it allows each space to have its own character while remaining part of a cohesive whole.

Material, proportion, light and volume have been carefully orchestrated to create an understated sense of refinement—where luxury is experienced more through the quality of space than through its display.

For us, the real measure of a residence lies beyond its photographs.

It lies in the morning light entering a room, an evening conversation that extends longer than expected, a family gathering around a table, or the quiet comfort of being alone.

Architecture provides the framework. Life gives it meaning.

And perhaps that is the quietest form of luxury—a home that does not merely accommodate life, but is thoughtfully shaped around it.

What if light was not added to architecture at the end but designed into it from the very beginning?

In healthcare environments, lighting does far more than illuminate a room. It influences orientation, perception, mood and the overall experience of moving through a space.

In this hospital lobby, light becomes part of the architectural language itself.

Linear illumination follows the geometry of the building, creating rhythm, drawing the eye through the volume and emphasising height, depth and materiality. Integrated lighting within the ceiling and vertical surfaces adds warmth and visual hierarchy, while generous glazing brings natural daylight deep into the interior.

The result is a carefully layered experience—where artificial and natural light work together rather than compete.

Warm illumination softens the scale of the space. Daylight connects the interior with the landscape beyond. Architectural lighting guides movement and creates visual landmarks. Even functional waiting areas begin to feel calmer, more welcoming and less institutional.

This is particularly important in healthcare architecture. A hospital should be clinically efficient without necessarily feeling clinical.

At Renascent Consultants, we believe lighting is not a finishing layer applied after the architecture is complete. It is a design tool that should influence the architecture itself—from the earliest stages of planning and spatial design.

Because light can define a volume, guide a journey, reveal material, create comfort and shape memory.

When architecture is designed around light, the experience begins before the destination is reached.
