🏗️ We charge ₹55,000 for a site visit for a Structural Stability Report.

Let me explain why. 👇

Recently, a client in Tiruppur approached us with an urgent requirement.

They have a 20-year-old building that is currently divided into 4 shops, and they want to remove the partition walls and convert it into one large commercial space.

But before removing any wall, we need to understand the existing structure completely.

🔍 First, we use a Wall Scanner to identify where the columns, beams, electrical wiring and water pipelines are located.

🏗️ Next, we investigate the existing structural members manually to understand the beam sizes, concrete depth and other important structural details.

📐 Since this is a 20-year-old building, the original structural drawings may not be available. So we take complete site measurements and prepare a new 2D drawing showing the existing columns, beams and structural layout.

🚧 We then assess the walls and clearly mark which walls can potentially be removed and which walls should not be removed during renovation.

⬆️ We also study the possibility of adding an additional floor in the future and explain how it can be approached based on the existing structure.

So, this is not just a ₹55,000 site visit.

It involves:

✅ Site Investigation
✅ Wall Scanner Inspection
✅ Column & Beam Investigation
✅ Complete Site Measurements
✅ 2D Drawing Preparation
✅ Wall Removal Assessment
✅ Future Floor Addition Assessment
✅ Detailed Structural Stability Report

That’s why we charge ₹55,000 for the site visit and Structural Stability Report.

Because when you’re modifying an existing building, you shouldn’t guess what’s inside the walls — you should investigate it. 🏗️🔍

Only 4 Days Left to Handover… and We’re Completing a 3-Floor House with a Lift Without Digging a 5-Feet Pit! 🔥🏠

Yes, you heard that right! 😳
We completed the house, finished the final works, and handed it over to our client on time — while making sure every detail was practical, cost-efficient, and built to last. 👷‍♂️✨

Here’s what we did 👇

🪵 Premium Cupboard Finish
For the cupboard exteriors, we used a premium wood finish for a rich look, while the inside shelves were made using Kadappa slabs to keep the cost efficient for the client. 💰

💧 Water Protection
To protect against water, we used aluminium doors for the electrical box, modular kitchen, and bathroom cupboards. 🛡️

🏠 Terrace Wall Protection
To prevent water from entering through the edges if cracks develop in the future due to heat and expansion, we provided granite along the top edges of the terrace walls. ☀️🌧️

🚰 Better Water Pressure
For good water pressure, we positioned the water tank at a height of approximately 6–8 feet. We also provided the necessary provision for future solar panels. ☀️🔋

🛗 The Lift Solution
This is a hydraulic lift, so a conventional 5-feet-deep pit isn’t required. For this installation, a 6-inch pit is sufficient, subject to the lift manufacturer’s specifications. ✅

Every last-minute detail matters when you’re working towards a handover. Our goal isn’t just to complete the house — it’s to deliver a home our client can be happy with. ❤️🏡

We’re currently renovating and expanding a home for our Dubai client — and the transformation has already begun! 🔨🏠

Before cutting or removing any wall, structural stability and the load-bearing capacity of the existing building must be properly assessed. ⚠️🏗️

Only after ensuring the structure is stable do we proceed with temporary shoring. Adjustable steel props (commonly called “jockeys”) are positioned correctly to provide temporary support to the load while the wall is being cut. 🏗️

Depending on the specification and site conditions, a properly rated jockey may support around 1–2 tonnes, but its actual safe working load must always be verified based on the manufacturer’s rating and structural requirements. 👷‍♂️

Once the temporary support is correctly installed, we can safely proceed with the wall cutting. ✂️🧱

We’re also removing the existing external staircase and creating a brand-new staircase inside the house — another structural modification that requires proper temporary support before cutting the upper wall. 🪜➡️🏠

And there was one more surprise! 😳
The client reported a serious termite infestation. 🐜 We inspected the affected area, identified the source, and provided the appropriate solution to tackle the problem. ✅

Four days. Major structural changes. One step closer to the final transformation. 🔥🏠

Our client has met us only twice, yet he trusted us with the complete transformation of his home. 🤝🏡

He’s based in Dubai 🇦🇪, and from sitting in Dubai, he worked with us to design his dream home. Now, we’re bringing that vision to life. ✨

We’re adding an entirely new floor, completely renovating the existing house, and transforming the entire elevation with a brand-new look. 🏗️🔥

When trust is strong, distance doesn’t matter. ❤️‍🔥

🏗️ A Simple Solution to a Heavy Problem! 💪

While renovating VNA Jewellery on Cross Cut Road, we faced a challenge during the staircase granite installation. 🪨

Granite is one of the heaviest natural stones, and the total load was expected to be around 500 kg. ⚠️ The existing staircase alone was not designed to safely carry this additional load.

So, instead of going for a costly solution, we used a simple and cost-efficient structural solution — I-Section Beams. 🔩🏗️

These beams are widely used in structures such as bridges and high-rise buildings because of their excellent load-bearing capacity.

We installed the I-section beams beneath the staircase and properly connected them to the supporting structure, providing additional strength and support. 💪

Now, the staircase has the required additional support to safely handle the granite load. ✅

Smart engineering doesn’t always mean expensive engineering. Sometimes, the simplest solution is the strongest one. 🏗️🔥

Cross Cut Road Chronicles 😂❤️

Today, we had another little “dispute” with our neighbour at our VNA Jewellery renovation site on Cross Cut Road! 😄

We were installing a copper earthing rod near the overflow of the water tank. The reason is simple — the earthing rod needs to be in continuously moist soil for proper earthing, so instead of watering it every day, we planned to place it where the overflow water naturally keeps the soil humid. 💧⚡️

But to reach the backside of the building, we have to pass through our neighbour’s place. And then came the classic dialogue! 😂

Our VNA Jewellery in-charge told me,
“Sir, for almost 25 years, we’ve been getting scolded by this lady!” 🤣

“Today, he told me, ‘Don’t worry, sir… I’ll get scolded for you!’” 😂❤️

Honestly, I can’t move through my day without getting at least one scolding from her! 😜 But the best part is — she is such a sweet woman. ❤️

She scolds us… but she scolds us with so much sweetness that even the scolding feels like affection! 😂❤️

25 years of scolding = 25 years of neighbourhood bonding! 🥰😂

⚠️ DISCLAIMER: SMR Constructions is NOT involved in any of the projects, government works, sanctions, tenders, contracts, or ex*****on of works mentioned in this video/post. This content is shared only to document my experience and the public issues discussed. 🙏

Out of nowhere, our Sulur MLA Sugumar Anna showes me a file.

When I opened it, I understood the seriousness behind it.

It was connected to the recent tragic incident involving a 9-year-old girl in Sulur. 💔

The street connected to the incident lacked proper road access and adequate street lighting.

Following this, Sugumar Anna immediately took up the issue, went to Rural Development Minister Bussy Anand, and got a sanction of ₹1.7 CRORE to construct a new road and install street lights across the dark spots in that area. 🛣️💡🙏

That was the file Sugumar Anna showed me. 📄

Then Anna told me something:

🗣️ “You should know how many problems people in this region are facing. Put a chair next to me, sit here and spend the whole day with me.”

So I did.

And that day, I started seeing the kind of problems people bring to an MLA every single day.

👵 An elderly woman came seeking help regarding a patta for her house. Her late husband had served as a police officer for nearly 40 years, yet she was still struggling to get the patta.

🚰 Then another group came with a basic problem — they had reportedly been without proper water supply for nearly 3 months.

We immediately contacted the respective department officials.

The explanation we received was that the pipeline infrastructure in that area had been planned based on the 2011 census and population requirements. Since then, the population has increased significantly, but the pipeline infrastructure had not been upgraded accordingly.

But I’m not here to blame the people who were in power before us.

Because if we keep blaming others, we won’t grow in life.

Instead of asking “Whose fault is this?”, we should ask:

“What is the solution, and what can we do right now?”

And the water issue was taken up immediately and a solution was initiated. 💧✅
