Architecture for us is a discourse between built-form and space around. We engage ourselves in understanding the user requirement to define the project’s vision. The process involves a logical understanding of the physical environment, analyzing the constraints, socio- cultural structure and critical analysis to evolve form and space. We thrive to forge spatial quality that liberates and enriches the inhabitant’s imagination through the journey of transformation and transcendence. Our deep understanding and admiration for Indian art and architecture, ancient spatial science and contemporary building technology are very special to our outlook.

The Thresholds (Transitional or In-Between Space): Where Space Transforms the Inner Experience!

Sketch of a Residential Project at Virudhachalam, Tamil Nadu.

These multiple transitional courts, as voids, are meticulously crafted to integrate the subtle shifts in spatial experience. “They act as porous boundaries, guiding movement and perception, allowing for moments of intentional pause and psychological transformation”.

These strategic lungs optimize passive cross-ventilation and channel abundant daylight into the interior volumes. This intelligent integration of culturally vital space in urban context, capable of absorbing a multitude of functionalities, redefining spatial dimensions, profoundly elevates user experiences, allowing urban dwelling to truly breathe, connect, and thrive.

At we strive to create such profound living experiences.

More Than Walls: Space as the “Containment of Life”

At innate studio we believe space is far more than just a set of dimensions. For us, space is ultimately about the “containment of life.”

Every wall, every roof, every floor isn’t just a physical barrier; it’s a carefully crafted container designed to hold, nurture, and elevate the aspects of human existence.

We are largely categorizing them into: The Containment of Moments, the Containment of Purpose, the Containment of Emotions, the Containment of Growth, and ultimately- the Containment of Self.

When we approach design with this philosophy that space is the “containment of life,” we move beyond walls and into a deeper understanding of human needs and inspire the life within them.

Terracotta House:

The house was designed around family’s aspiration, creating enriching experience. Traditional indian system of measurement (Ayadi) was used meticulously to formulate the spatial dimension and volumetric proportion. The architectural vocabulary was ideated with clean white geometric forms incorporated with terracotta jaali screens, exposed brick walls and kota stone flooring to regulate the indoor temperature, improving natural ventilation from prevailing wind directions and provide shade during harsh sun. The overall built form seamlessly embraces the native roots with contemporary sensibilities.
