Context at the Core : Designing for Chennai’s Terrain.
How do you turn a narrow plot and challenging clayey soil into a design advantage?

For this project, the constraints became the blueprint. By placing the lift core at the heart of the structure, we unlocked a floor plan that feels expansive despite the site’s footprint.

Each level is a dedicated zone, tailored specifically to the lifestyle of those who call it home.

மகிழ்வகம் (Magizhvagam) was conceived keeping Chennai’s hot and humid climate served as the primary cue. The southern façade defines the linear edge of the building, with generous openings that allows ample daylight and south-western winds into the space. This side accommodates most of the public spaces and allows better daylight and views. Glass is used selectively to maintain a balance between openness and atmospheric control.
