Good architecture doesn’t start with a mood board. It starts with a question.

Before we draw a single line, we study the site, understand how you live, and let the climate set the rules — not the other way around. Tradition informs us, but we don’t copy it. Materials get chosen for how they’ll age, not just how they’ll photograph. And design only counts if it survives construction.

This is the process behind every home we build at Aagaur — not a style, not a Pinterest board, a methodology.

Save this for when you start planning your own home. 🏛️

These steps may look like they’re floating… but there’s a structural logic behind them.
Here’s a quick look at how we’re building them on site. 👷‍♂️

The trees decided the shape of this building before we did. At 🌳

When we started designing this community infrastructure + temple for a housing project, there were mature trees already rooted on site. Instead of clearing them, we let their positions guide the curve and the taper of the built form — the rounded community block bends around one, the temple spire rises clear of another.

Built entirely in local brick, sourced and laid by masons— no paint, no cladding, just the material ageing honestly with the seasons.

This is what sustainable design means to us at Aagaur: not a checklist, but listening to what’s already there and building around it.

What do you think — does the temple’s form remind you of anything traditional?.

We see it all the time — ₹10L spent on things guests will compliment, and ₹2L quietly saved on the things that actually hold a home together.

Structure. Waterproofing. Windows. Services. These aren’t the exciting line items in your budget, but they’re the ones that decide whether your house is still standing — and still dry — in twenty years.

Swipe through for where we believe your money is actually well spent, and where you can safely save it.

A home shaped by its place. 🏔️

Currently in process at Thural, Himachal Pradesh — a residence designed to feel warm, rooted and connected to the landscape.

From the pitched roofs and exposed brick to the large arched openings framing the mountains, every element is designed to balance Himachal’s character with a contemporary way of living.

Sharing a few glimpses of the journey — from the drawings and construction process to what the home is slowly becoming.

Still a work in progress, but the soul of the house is already taking shape.

Architecture is not just about what we design.
It is also about what we choose not to do.

At Aagaur Studio, we believe good design starts with listening, understanding the site, respecting materials, learning from the past, and thinking beyond the day a building is completed.

These are not rules we follow for the sake of design.

They are the principles that shape every space we create.

What is one thing you believe architects should never compromise on?
