On the other side of the pooja space lies the dining area, where the flooring returns to the warm beige micro-concrete with brass inlays, continuing the language established in the living room.

The deep green micro-concrete of the pooja space creates a distinct contrast against the softer beige of the dining area, while the brass inlays visually connect the two spaces.

Between the living and dining areas, a laterite clad pooja unit creates a distinct focal point.

Traditional pillars, brackets and rafters frame the space, giving it a strong architectural character inspired by Kerala homes.

The detailing is further accentuated by a deep green micro-concrete floor, divided by brass strips and set in contrast against the adjoining flooring.

Between the living and dining areas, a laterite-clad pooja unit creates a distinct focal point. Traditional pillars, brackets and timber rafters frame the space, giving it a strong architectural character inspired by Kerala homes.

The combination of laterite, wood,brass and deep green creates a rich yet understated transition between living and dining.

Definitely one of our favourite puja unit!!

The living room was furnished with a light, understated palette of wood and cane, drawing from the simplicity of traditional Kerala homes.

Keeping the furniture visually light allows the micro-concrete flooring and its intricate brass inlays to take centre stage, becoming the quiet hero of the space.

Along one side, a series of three arches frames a handcrafted banana leaf mural, adding another layer of memory and subtly reconnecting the space to the client’s Kerala roots.

Introducing our new project # Moolam.
A home shaped by memory,materials and place.

The entrance sets the tone for the journey through the home.

A handcrafted banana-leaf relief mural welcomes you in, while custom wallpaper on the crockery unit depicts scenes inspired by everyday life in Kerala.

A terracotta jaali forms a delicate partition while adding warmth and an earthy quality to the space. Underfoot, micro-concrete flooring with brass inlays offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional oxide floors found in Kerala homes, adding both texture and a sense of nostalgia.

Every detail was conceived as a subtle reminder of the client’s roots, allowing memories of home to unfold naturally through the spaces.

It’s always exciting to see what we got vs. what we created.

Saanjh was a renovation, which came with its own set of challenges, existing conditions and limitations.

We worked with what was there, reimagined the spaces, brought in the colours, textures and details rooted in the client’s Punjabi heritage, and gave the home a whole new story.

From what was…to what it became.

Here’s a little wrap of Saanjh — a home where old memories meet a new beginning.

The heart of this home isn’t inside—it lies under the open sky.

Conceived as an elevated pind a rustic village inspired retreat above the city the terrace is a celebration of Punjab’s rich cultural heritage.

Folk murals animate the walls, bamboo roofing filters the sunlight, and terracotta flooring, paired with mud-plastered walls, evokes the warmth and simplicity of traditional village homes.

Fortress-like parapet walls provide privacy while echoing the architecture of old Punjabi homes. Built-in seating invites long conversations, while a rustic chulha corner celebrates age-old traditions. A handcrafted partition made with traditional pankhi sourced from Punjab introduces vibrant colour and craftsmanship.

Under the open sky, past and present come together effortlessly a space where memories are made, traditions are cherished, and the spirit of Punjab lives on.

Warm textures meet bold hues in the master bedroom.

Wooden rafters celebrate the sloping roof, adding warmth and character, while a striking cobalt blue console introduces a vibrant pop of colour.

The same rich blue is echoed in the balcony’s patterned tiles, creating a seamless visual connection between the indoors and outdoors.

The existing wooden louvered wardrobe was thoughtfully refurbished with cane laminate and neutral colour lending it a lighter aesthetic.

Handcrafted blue stained-glass bifold doors leading to the walk-in wardrobe complete the palette, adding a timeless charm.
