Jab Tak Hai Jaan (transl. As Long as I Live), abbreviated as JTHJ, is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film written by Aditya Chopra and directed by Yash Chopra.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan as Samar Anand, a bomb disposal expert for the Indian Army, whose diary falls into the hands of Akira Rai, a documentary filmmaker (Anushka Sharma). It recounts his time as a struggling immigrant in London and whirlwind romance with Meera Thappar (Katrina Kaif).[1][3]
The story follows Samar Anand, a fearless bomb disposal expert in the Indian Army who lives without fear of death. Years earlier in London, he fell deeply in love with Meera, but she left him after making a promise to God to sacrifice their love to save his life. Heartbroken, Samar returns to India and becomes emotionally distant. Later, Akira, a lively documentary filmmaker, discovers his past and slowly develops feelings for him. When Samar loses his memory after an accident, the past and present collide, forcing Meera and Akira to confront love, sacrifice, and destiny.
