A continuous linear datum organises seating, service and movement across the narrow volume.

A freestanding shelving layer structures display while keeping visual continuity intact.

This café doesn’t ask for attention.
It reveals itself slowly.

At Inhabited Datum, the experience is shaped through atmosphere more than objects. Warm light against raw concrete, long shared tables, quiet corners by the edge of the glass, and materials that feel familiar the moment they’re touched.

The existing industrial character of the Alembic Art District was retained and allowed to remain visible overhead, while the intervention stays restrained and intentional. Nothing is hidden unnecessarily, and nothing is added for excess. The space relies on proportion, continuity and the calm rhythm of everyday occupation.
Over time, the café changes with light, conversations, movement and use. That gradualness became an important part of how the space was imagined.
