Anyone else getting a soft spot for sage green lately? Eyes👀 We’re big fans of it here!🤩

Especially when it looks this well alongside whitewashed brick and blonde oak laminate flooring. A lovely combination in the entrance of this home, with plenty of natural light coming through that front door.

🧱The brickwork you’re looking at is the existing red brick cladding, given a whitewash so you still get all that lovely texture and character. Sometimes a feature already in your home is well worth keeping 🧡

Would you go for a bit of green in your own hallway?🚪

👷🏼‍♂️If you’re planning a home renovation or house extension in Bray, Wicklow or the surrounding areas, give us a shout. Alan, Johno and the team would be happy to chat through your ideas.

Same house, extra room. You just had to look up 🙌🏼

This is a finished attic conversion we've just wrapped up, with a proper carpeted staircase, a roof window bringing in loads of natural light, and a glass balustrade so the whole space feels open and bright. Now all it needs is a big comfy chair and a blanket for the winter evenings.

Home office, playroom, cosy reading nook, or somewhere to hide from the rest of the house? Tell us what you'd use it for in the comments 👇

If your attic is just full of Christmas decorations and boxes you haven't opened since you moved in, it might be worth a chat. Winter is a great time to plan, so you're ready to go in the new year.

👷🏼‍♂️ Get in touch with Alan, Johno and the Sycamore Construction team to talk through your plans. We'd love to hear what you have in mind.

We have a date… 📆💜

And lads, we’ve been waiting a long time to share this one with you!

On Sunday 18th October, you’ll get to see the DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland episode featuring the Leonard family in Bray, and a project that means so much to all of us.

Back in July, we joined Baz, the DIY SOS team and an incredible group of tradespeople, volunteers and local businesses to help create a home ready to welcome Hannah Leonard back to her family. 💜

Seeing so many people turn up, roll up their sleeves and give their time and skills to help Hannah and her family is something we’ll never forget. We’re so proud to have played our part alongside them.👷🏼‍♂️

We’ve been looking forward to showing you what everyone achieved together ever since. These photos bring it all back, and we can only imagine what watching the episode will feel like!

📺 Sunday 18th October
🕡 6.30pm on RTÉ One

Put the kettle on and watch it with us. This one will stay with us long after the credits roll. 💜☕️

Ignored all my problems so I'm getting an extension instead👷🏼‍♂️

Week one of a new house extension in progress 🏗️ Here's what happens first when we break ground on a home extension in Wicklow:

1️⃣ Site set up: secure fencing, signage and access sorted
2️⃣ Excavation: digging out for the new foundations
3️⃣ Clearing the soil: loaded up and taken away so the site stays tidy
4️⃣ Setting out: making sure every line is exactly where the plans say

It's the messiest stage, but it's where every great extension starts 💪

📌 Save this if you're planning an extension next year
👀 Send it to the friend who's been "thinking about an extension" for years

👷🏼‍♂️ Get in touch with the Sycamore Construction team to discuss your plans. We'd love to hear what you have in mind.

Thinking about a renovation next year? Winter is when it really starts 👇

Most homeowners wait until spring to get the ball rolling, then find the design, planning and builder diaries are already filling up. Getting organised over the winter months means you're ready to go when the good weather arrives.

Your winter planning checklist 📋
1️⃣ Decide what you actually want: extension, renovation, or a refresh of key rooms like a hallway or staircase
2️⃣ Set a realistic budget, with a contingency for the unexpected
3️⃣ Talk to an architect or designer and check whether you need planning permission
4️⃣ Look into SEAI energy grants if you're upgrading insulation or heating
5️⃣ Get your builder booked in early to secure your start date

This hallway and solid oak staircase is a favourite of ours, with herringbone flooring, oak doors and handcrafted balustrades bringing warmth and light into the heart of the home 🪵

📌 Save this checklist for when you start planning, or send it to someone who's been talking about "doing up the house" for years!

👷🏼‍♂️ Give Alan or Johno a shout to have a chat about your plans. The lads would love to hear what you have in mind.

🏡 That freshly renovated feeling. You know the one?

🚪Walking through your front door and everything just feels right.

🧱The new flooring. The fresh finishes. The kitchen you’ve been imagining for months. Even the little details you never thought you’d get so excited about.

There’s something special about coming home to a space that’s been completely transformed. ❤️

And that’s exactly why we love what we do.

From the first stages of a renovation to those final finishing touches, every detail plays a part in creating a home that’s not only beautiful but practical for everyday living.

Here’s a little look at a completed project, and we think the results speak for themselves. 🙌🏼

Swipe through and imagine coming home to this! 👉🏼

Love where you live, but running out of room? 🏡👇🏼

🙌🏼A home extension could give you the space you need while keeping you in the neighbourhood you know.

🧱This extension is currently underway, with large glazed doors bringing natural light into the new space and opening directly onto the patio. You can already get a feel for how the house and garden will work together.

If you’re thinking about extending, a useful starting point is to ask yourself: what feels missing from your home at the moment? 🤔

A kitchen where everyone can gather? Space for a proper dining table? A living area with a view of the garden?🪴

Having that clear from the start helps shape the layout, so every bit of the extra space has a purpose.

There’s more to come on this project, and we’ll share it as the work progresses 👌

Ever wondered what actually happens before a build begins? 👀🏗️

👉🏼 Before anything goes up, a lot has to happen down below.

🪏 Site clearance and excavation are some of the first steps in preparing a site. The ground is cleared, levels are established and the area is excavated ready for the foundations and the next stages of the build.

Basically… before you get the finished kitchen, extension or new space, there’s a whole lot of mud, machinery and groundwork first 👷🏻‍♂️

And it’s an important part of the job. Getting the groundwork right gives everything that follows a solid start 🙌🏼

The Sycamore lads are getting this one moving, and we’ll bring you along as it starts to take shape 👷🏼‍♂️

A closer look at the progress 👷🏻‍♂️🏗️

👉🏼 From the early stages to the kitchen installation underway, this space is really starting to come together.

🔵 The navy cabinetry gives a glimpse of how the finished kitchen will look. There’s still work to complete, but it’s always rewarding to look back at the earlier stages and see the difference.

We’ll share more as this renovation progresses 🔨
