A great few days for our 2nd Division team

On Friday

Johnville 2A edged out Crystal 1-0 in a tight, hard-fought contest where effort and determination were the difference. Both sides battled from start to finish, but it was a moment of pure brilliance that ultimately settled the game.

The winning goal came from Roy Cummins, who produced something special. After winning a 50/50 battle in midfield, he looked up and unleashed an incredible strike from the halfway line that flew into the top corner, giving the keeper absolutely no chance. A goal worthy of winning any match.

Wednesday

Johnville delivered a superb all-round performance as they ran out convincing 5-0 winners over a strong and well-organised Dungarvan Celtic side.

From the outset, Johnville looked sharp and purposeful, moving the ball well and creating early pressure. Their efforts paid off with two well-taken goals in the first half, giving them a deserved 2-0 lead going into the break.

The second half saw a slight tactical shift, with Johnville sitting a bit deeper and inviting pressure. However, this only played into their hands, as they repeatedly punished Dungarvan Celtic on the counterattack. Some excellent transitional play and clinical finishing turned a solid lead into a dominant scoreline.

Jamie Brazil and Martin Wright both grabbed braces with two goals apiece, while Anthony Flynn added another to cap off an impressive attacking display.
